Drexel ACE Fall 2016

Published

Hey Everyone,

I noticed there wasn't a thread for this group yet so of course the most simple solution was to make one! Hopefully everyone can share their thoughts, questions and updates here.

Just submitted my application and essay. Now I'm just waiting on completion with transcript processing. Trying to stay calm and ready myself for the wait.

Good Luck Everyone :)

I heard nothing but great things about Drexel, don't let the forums get to you. They have the highest nclex pass rate for a reason! :)

And congrats on your acceptances!! :)

Question to all of those who have been accepted: does your application say provisional acceptance? Someone told me that all nursing acceptances are provisional pending background check and immunization information

Hey guys, I got accepted this morning! I believe I submitted my application September 1, 2015. Congratulations to everyone that got accepted. If you are still waiting, be strong, you will hear good news very soon.

Mine says provisional acceptance too.

Yes mine says provisional, too. I have to take one more pre requisite, graduate haha, get the proper immunizations, and get a background check.

Hey guys, I got into University of Marylands nursing program for this Spring, so I'll be declining Drexels offer. Good luck to all of you!

Hi everyone-

Congrats to those that have been accepted! I'm a recent graduate of the program and I can honestly say I have no regrets. I know some people say awful things about the program, but remember people who are unhappy tend to be the loudest. I do want to point out that one of the big differences between Drexel and Jefferson is that Drexel participates in what is called "high stakes testing". What that means is that you are required to pass an exit exam in order to graduate. Jefferson does not require this. Some people don't like this policy, but I honestly never minded it. Sure, it was nerve racking at the end, but I passed the exam with flying colors and with fairly little prep (just didn't have the time I would have liked). It was great reassurance going into the NCLEX, which I took under 2 weeks later and passed with 75 questions. About a month after passing the NCLEX I accepted a position that I was absolutely thrilled about. Another question to ask/consider is the curriculum. It was something I didn't think of at the time, but later I realized Drexel required roughly 20 more credits to graduate than Jeff. This may have or may be changing, as I've heard they are revamping the program and changing some things. But these are some important points to consider/investigate.

Good luck!

Just submitted my matriculation fee! :D

To all those accepted,

Do you know when we have to make a decision by? I remember when I got accepted I saw something about 60 or 90 days? But now that I look through all the links/info I can't find it >_>

60 days from acceptance

This is really helpful. Thanks a lot for taking the time to share this with us AceOfHearts. That is pretty encouraging!
