Hi everyone! I received my admission email to Hopfer last week and I'm curious to hear from current students, recent grads and others applying/accepted for this fall. What are your thoughts on the program?
I've applied to 3 other nursing programs and I'm still waiting to hear back from them, but in the meantime Hopfer wants the $300 deposit by the 24th! I would love to attend but some feedback about the program would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS :)

Hi RNDreamers! I am completing my first semester at Hopfer now. I recently posted about it here... https://allnurses.com/new-york-state/dorothea-hopfer-681634-page10.html
It's a great school with wonderful, caring professors (and Dean). If there is anything specific you are curious about, don't hesitate to ask. I feel this school deserves a lot more attention than it gets.
I was accepted to St. Pauls in Queens, which was only a 5 minute ride from my home. I opted for Hopfer because of the overall feel of the school. If you haven't attended the open house, I highly suggest you do. There is one today, 5/16, at 1pm and 6pm.

Hi there, I am graduating this semester. my experience at hopfer has made me truly appreciate private small schools. the professors are always available to you even after you have completed the semester they teach. Clinicals were a wonderful experience the clinical instructors are excellent and are extremely supportive. good luck with whatever school you decide to go to and welcome to nursing!
Thank u so much guys! I went in today and submitted my deposit. I'm extremely excited and really appreciate your responses.

hiii everyone! I just completed my first semester at the school and I am very pleased. The school has amazing staff that makes you feel so comfortable. The school is small so *****(she's extremely nice and helpful) knows us all by our name which makes you feel good. I am sure you guys will be just as satisfied as me with the school. The passing rate is amazing as well and that's something you need to look at! I am very proud and honored to be a nursing student here.
oh and ofcourse congrats to those of you that got accepted! I didnt sleep that night I recieved my acceptance email. Good luck to you all...the professors are beyond amazing, comprehensive and truly there for the students!
@angie1323 I actually took the Teas in 2011. The exam is valid for two yrs and I submitted my results with the application in March. Good luck!

Congrats to all who made it in & whos currently experiencing the program. I took the TEAS last Fall and didnt make it by the skin of my teeth. Lord knows I would choose Hopfer above all, really wanna get into this program. So I'm studying extremely HARDER than last year to retake the test again in the Fall. Do you mind me asking what were your TEAS scores and any study tips? Truly appreciate...

Hey all! Does anyone have any insight on how the night/weekend program is? I was attending NYU but ran into a ton of trouble with financial aid so I withdrew. Really hoping to get into Hopfer for Spring 14, but I work at Lenox Hill and would love to keep my job too!

One day is 4 hours of lecture, the other is 2hr lab, 2 hr lecture. Clinical is 8hrs on Saturday. 95% of the class works full time. It's a lot of work, but doable.
