Montefiore- Interview Process
your absolutely correct! I will take your advice. I agree, if a hospital doesn't hire me as a new grad...I won't bother investing my time and effort in them when I have experience. Thanks so much for replying.

Montefiore- Interview Process
Hey EstrellaCR, I am currently attending the Montefiore School of Nursing and will be graduating next semester which is fall 2014. Since the program is almost over I decided to research how the job market is at the moment and how would the process for Montefiore be but now I'm a bit worried. I have zero experience as well. I definitely wasn't expecting to wait 3+months for an offer! Definitely a reality check for me. I want to land a job shortly after school, we all do but now Montefiore seems like a far reach even though I am attending their school. There's not enough jobs out there for the amount of new grads. Why even continue to post a job if they haven't given everyone they're "considering" a second one. I absolutely love the school so nothing would make me happier than working for them but I would go with the best offer I can land. A job is a job and as a new grad it's nice to step our foot in the door and get the experience. Then we can take the experience elsewhere if that's what we decide. Thank you for all your post!

oh and yess about 2-3 times a semester you will have what we call a "pull out" day. You need to go to one of the clinical sites for observation such as radiology, dialysis, OR, ER, etc. Each semester is different! Usually on the weekday you have pull out, your off that saturday. Hope this helps!

I started the program Jan 2013 for the evening class. Unless they changed it which I doubt it, we have clinicals Saturdays not Wednesday! Weds. is for the day program not evening. Saturday 7-4pm at different locations. When I took the teas, there were about 200 people if I'm not mistaken and our class started with about 36 people. They are pretty fast with letting you know if you got accepted after everyone takes their teas. I got an email about a week after taking the teas, my teas date was the last date available. Within a week or so I receive the email to notify I was accepted and that I needed to secure admissions with a security deposit. I know it seems like a long wait but they try very hard to inform everyone as promptly as they can. Good Luck everyone!

Hi, I am currently in nursing 3 in the school. I don't commute from far so I am not too sure how that would be but many classmates live in queens and don't seem to complain about the commute. As for the school, I LOVE it. I am in the evening program and the schedule is Tues(6pm-10pm) & Weds(4pm-8pm or 6pm-10pm) with clinicals on saturdays (7am-4pm). The Prof. are all active nurses & are AMAZING! They are there for you 100%. You will catch them even after office hours helping the students. ************ is the person I would call if you want more information. She's the sweetest & she knows the students by name. Open houses are available now so you can check it out. Nursing school is very demanding but it's doable. I am happy in the school and I am sure you would to. Good Luck.

hiii everyone! I just completed my first semester at the school and I am very pleased. The school has amazing staff that makes you feel so comfortable. The school is small so *****(she's extremely nice and helpful) knows us all by our name which makes you feel good. I am sure you guys will be just as satisfied as me with the school. The passing rate is amazing as well and that's something you need to look at! I am very proud and honored to be a nursing student here. oh and ofcourse congrats to those of you that got accepted! I didnt sleep that night I recieved my acceptance email. Good luck to you all...the professors are beyond amazing, comprehensive and truly there for the students!

I'm so glad you posted that. I have been feeling very overwhelmed and scared to start. I been doing the reading but I can't remember everything so I'm very nervous. I'm glad they have open lab and tutoring because since I left my job for school I will be there all the time. @johnns831

How much did you pay for the package? I been looking into buying a stethoscope myself. I guess I need to get my cpr class done if it takes 3 weeks to get da cpr class

There's so much to do. I still don't have my CPR certification so I need to get that now. I'm excited also..I ordered most of the books so I can't wait to start the reading. Something that is weird to me is that on moodle it says there's only 15 participants for N1 2013..I'm surprised all the seats aren't reserved by now.

Wow! I saw like 2 males the day I took my test. That's awesome though. Did you purchase your uniform already? && boy am I scared..I saw the reading that we have to do before the first class and its A LOT. I came from a community college and I don't recall ever reading this much before class even starts. lol There's quite a lot of books to purchase but definitely check out half.com..You will get "like new" books for a GREAT deal. I feel like there's a lot to do so I'm just buying everything now so I wont be overwhelmed later.

I know I'm ecstatic right now & I'm sure you guys are too.
