Don't you hate the arrogant students?

Today was the nurse orientation. Some of the students in the orientation came off as very arrogant to me. The funny thing about it, is that I did not see them as special or better. To tell you the truth, I do not even find them attractive. They were looking at me like I was inferior or something. WTF? The women there were not even attractive and judging from how they acted, I would not even date them. The cool students and the good looking students did not come off that way as they did. I hate those arrogant students. They should get a reality check.:angryfire

Anyway, I like making friends with the good looking people who are cool and to the regular students who are not arrogant. I belive that is normal and that is not high school!! They acted like they were in high school and it was not me. :angryfire

I don't actually see anyone attacking you, hopefully, but how you cannot see that your post was unjust and unfair is beyond me. You don't even know those people you described. How do you know they're arrogant? Why are you so quick to base assumptions on people according to how they look? What has physical attractiveness got to do with not being arrogant or with being cool? You're a nursing student?

You're more annoyed that no one's agreeing with you.

And probably the REASON why people aren't agreeing with you is that you're coming across as the very same people that you are describing. :rolleyes:

And if you don't even want to KNOW them then why are you STILL talking abou them? If they're so bad, why are you wasting time trying to rationalize their behavior?

If you only limit yourself to the 'good-looking people' (beauty is in the eye of the beholder), then you're going to miss out on the great people (wait i said that already..).

As for acting like they were in high school, weeeeellllll, no comment lol! :chuckle

Well, you may be right, yes. Yet, none of us know for sure if this is a troll post.....or isn't. It it is, we've simply wasted a tiny bit of time in replying....If it isn't, we have hopefully made points to hopefully.

OMG!!! Lizz and I agree once again!!! That would explain this cold snap (h--- freezing over! :chuckle )

I wondered where all the back biting and back stabbing in nursing school came from, and now, reading the OP and some of the f/u, I see.

I would suggest that with this perspective and general personality makeup, perhaps nursing might not be an appropriate choice. Love of one's fellow (hu)man seems to be markedly missing.

In time, you (OP) will realize that arrogance (your term) is spending any time assessing anyone on anything personal, particularly that which is unchangeable--i.e., outward appearance, intellect, family members, skin color, language or accent--summed up rather nicely in the cliche, "so who died and made you boss?"

what are you 15? so what are you going to do when you get a nasty looking pt? are you going to treat her/him different? remaining objective and non-judgemental are a few of the essences of nursing. get real and grow up! a statement like "i prefer to be friends with the cool and good looking people" makes me think admission requirements should include personality testing to weed out people like yourself. i apologize for being so harsh, but i'm just astounded!

maybe he should wait til he is in school a bit longer -- don't know about you but my "coolness" got shot in the butt after the instructors got thru with me, i was a wreck! and the good looking? i gained weight and you shoulda seen some of my pimples! not to mention the circles under my eyes and my droopy hair -- and those uniforms! nobody looks "cool and good looking" in those!

I gained weight and you shoulda SEEN some of my pimples! Not to mention the circles under my eyes and my droopy hair -- and those UNIFORMS! NObody looks "cool and good looking" in THOSE!

Holy crap..you make nursing school sound like the depersonalizing process that goes in in military boot camp!! :chuckle

Come to think of it... boot camp would be the perfect place for this kid!

I don't think this is a troll judging by his past threads. But I definitely did get a good laugh. I just graduated and thought I'd check out my last student threads. All I can say is this is a future nurse. Scary.

hopefully sounds young. most of you had wierd and niave opinions when you were young. experience is what is going to teach hopefully. there is nothing you can tell a person to make them change what they think or how they view the world and people around them. hopefully will just have to experience for himself to learn. isn't that how it works for everyone? give him a break. sounds like age talking...nothing more. you can't nag him into changing his views ...personal experience is what will make him grow and learn. him being accepted into the nursing program might be part of the master plan for hopefully to experience some things that will change his outlook. jmo.:)

aaaaaaaaaahahahaha...I didn't realize I said "hopless"..nah, I didn't mean anything by it. I actually had a couple of things going on over here as I was typing that. lol, thanks for pointing that out. I guess I'll change it...I don't want it to seem like I'm being "arrogant":)
