DOH launches RN HEALS

Published

I saw this after surfing the net. Press release 01/12/2011

The Department of Health (DoH) today announced that applications can be filed starting next week, January 17, for its project where unemployed nurses will be deployed to poor communities in the country.

"the project, billed RN heals, seeks to make essential health services available to all Filipinos by training and deploying 10,000 unemployed nurses in communities to be identified by the DoH in collaboration with the department of social welfare & development (DSWD),"

Health secretary Enrique Ona said.

Rn Heals, an acronym for registered nurses for health enhancement and local service, is expected to address the shortage of skilled and experienced nurses in 1,221 rural and unserved or underserved communities for one year.

"eventually, these nurses will be part of the pool of competent nurses for later employment or absorption in health facilities, thus addressing the inadequate supply of skilled nurses and increasing the nurses' employment rate," the health chief concluded.

To answer your questions...

- I have been a bum ever since

- I am a resident of Manila

- I REGISTERED for the RNHeals project on Jan 18, 2011 @ 8:32 am via online

- My preferred area is somewhere within Manila as well (fortunately I'm a resident of one of the target areas)

- I RECEIVED an email from RNHeals-DOLE NCR on Jan 27, 2011 @ 9:17 am

- I was asked to bring the following req'ts: medical certificate from public doctor/hospital, NBI clearance, photocopy of license

I hope this answers your queries....

Any NCR appplicant here? do you received an e-mail?

i havent received any email from them. :(

i dont have any provincial address to speak of. i chose NCR as my preferred location and from what i heard they are only giving 200+ slots for NCR.

My appointment today was 1:30pm , But I got interviewed around 5pm

The line and wait was crazy , but the interview was around 10-15 mins.

We were interviewed at Malate, Manila ... DOLE office. The applicants were around 300+ today. I heard tomorrow will be Quezon City ... Get there extra early to be prioritized for your interview. 2-3 hours early !

Medical Certificates were not asked.

Only PRC license, Proof of residence, and Resume ... that's all .

Depending on who will interview you ... get ready for crazy questions like danger signs of pregnancy, immunization schedule, Leupold's maneuver, and etc heheheh ... I got lucky I did not get any of those questions. Mine was more of a casual conversation.

Lastly, be willing to be assign in the provinces !! not Manila ... lucky ones will be in manila but be ready to have a 2nd option.
