Does the rainbow finish on Littmann stethoscopes wear out?

I've been in the market for a new stethoscope and want to splurge on one of the more pricey ones. I like the all black with rainbow finish but I saw a post in the past where someone said the finish starting fading after about 2 years. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

I have the raspberry one with rainbow finish. It has not faded at all. I follow littmann's cleaning instructions and don't use bleach wipes on it, not sure if that has made a difference.
