Does north shore LIJ send a rejection letter/email after the interview

U.S.A. New York

Today is the exact two-week after my interview in north shore lij. I haven't heard any back yet and I left a voice mail for the recruiter. I want to know if they would give me any notification for rejection when they decided not to hire me. I hate waiting. I have been constantly checking my phone and email. I am feeling very stressful and frustrated. I think i should move on and stop putting any hope on this. :sniff:

In my experience, usually not. If you call or e-mail them asking they might respond to tell you, but I've even had times where they didn't even respond to that to let me know I did not get the position (I've interviewed for 3 position at Cohens, 1 for the new Katz center.). It is very frustrating.

NurseNerdy,

thanks for answering. I found that very frustrating since they did send confirmation email for the interview appointment but no notification for post-interview follow up. This kind of operation in the hiring process doesn't not make any sense to me at all.

Which recruiter did you meet with. It usually depends, some of them will get back to you.

What did the recruiter tell you at the end of the interview in terms of the next steps? Did you move on to interview with the the manager, director, etc of the unit of interest? Perhaps you can call at the beginning of the business day or call the main HR number and find out when so-and-so recruiter is expected to be in the office. Don't lose hope!

Hello,

Just wondering if you ever heard back from LIJ. Did they ask you for references following your interview? I have one coming up and was just wondering what the process is. Thanks!

Hi this is off topic but question they past few weeks i have been trying to get in contact with lij beacause their career site takes me to an error page to apply . How did you apply for the nursing externship? or is there a email i could have?

What internet browser are you using? Sometimes some applications don't work properly with specific browsers, try using a different one (internet explorer is notorious for this).

Good Luck!

I tried multiple ones when i go to northshore lij's website it gives you a link to apply but it goes directly to an error page? I have called for the past two weeks and no one seems to know how to apply?!? I was wondering how you applied for the summer externship ?

Hey waitingRN,

Did you finally hear back from LIJ? I'm in the same boat. It hasn't been a week yet but will be soon. I met with the recruiter, and manager. They emailed me for my references the same day and I haven't heard from them.

I'm worried that either my references weren't the best or the discrepenices in employment dates threw things off. I said I worked till feb 2008 when I left at March 2008. I didn't know I was a month off till I double checked with my past managers who were my references...I'm not sure how bad this looks...getting worried..

It can take up to five weeks or more depends on hr.

Hi All,

Did anyone ever get the nurse extern position? I went for my first interview with HR and the nurse educator for lij zucker hospital 9 days ago. They told me and i quote "you basically have the job" but i have yet to hear from them. The job starts on june 11th.... i dont know how long it could possibly take. I'm starting to lose my optimism =(
