Does a 4.0 mean all A's?

This may be a silly question, but if a school says you have to get a 4.0 in prereqs, does that mean A's in every class? I think I might end up with B's in micro and A&P II.

Yes it does mean just that. But remember some classes you've taken in one college may not be used in the calculation for another.

I had a 3.92 in pre-reqs, and if I got denied because of that, I'd be furious.

Are you certain that they absolutely require a 4.0? Or is that just their recommendation?

Well, it is v. much a "buyer's market" in nursing schools these days -- many schools have so many highly qualified applicants that they can be as picky as they like. They have to "thin the herd" of applicants somehow. I haven't heard of any schools requiring a 4.0 GPA, but I know plenty of schools that basically don't accept anyone with much less than a 4.0, simply because they have so many applicants with top grades ...

(Please note I'm not saying I think that's a good idea -- I've seen the results of picking nursing students strictly by GPA, and that system produced some pretty scary nursing students ...)

That's just so wrong. Yes, of course, as a nurse you need to have your head in the right place, but in my mind, intellect is not the most important in this role. It is really more about care and compassion. I understand schools need to narrow, but hoping they start considering other criteria as well.

What school are you attending?! I don't know of any school that REQUIRES an exact 4.0 in prereques, maybe they suggest it of course, but usually you don't need ALL A's. I would look over the requirements one more time :)
