Does the CES from CGFNS require local board?

Published

On the CGFNS requires for CES it indicates that they will evaluate your licensure from your origin country where you got your education. Does this mean that if you don't have license local boards in philippines that they won't do a CES for me?

If CES is required for every state to obtain licensure by exam then how can I be a nurse in the states without having local board exam here first?

Verification from the PRC that you did not take the exam should suffice. Already responded to this same question from you in another thread. Look for the answer there.

hi suzanne4, i think what janiceLM is referring to is the application that you will have to fill-up when you want you have your credentials evaluated by CGFNS. Because the application has two parts, one is for the school from whom the applicant has graduated from and the other part is from the licensing agency of the cpuntry where the applicant comes from. i am am currently subcribing to the CES of CGFNS and i too did not take any licensure exam in the Philippines. On my status on the CGFNS website, they are still waiting for my license evaluation from the Philippines but I already told them so many times through email and through the application that I have no license from the Philippines and still, my status on the CGFNS doesnt change, they are still waiting for my license evaluation frm the Philippines. Oh well, I guess I have to keep on telling the CGFNS that I have not taken any licensure exam in the Philippines until they understand what I have been saying for the last three months since I have subscribe to thewir CES service.

Hi asiagarden...I wonder what transpired in your CES application. Both me and my sister are in the same situation as you were. Were you issued the CES? I hope you can share your experience with us. Thank you.

Right now because of the issues caused by a few of your countrymen, it seems that CGFNS wants verification that the exam was not written. And that needs to come from the governing body. This is why I have told you to get a written verification from the PRC that you have not written the exam.

The local exam is not required for the CES, only for the CGFNS exam. But because of those that took the exam, then waived it, then got the CGFNS Certificate, then went back and got their license, CGFNS is looking at things very carefully right now.

And we can't blame them for that.

Do not go to Maryland for initial licensure, it has a language requirement. Soem state boards do require that you have a license in your home country, such as Vermont.

I told you what to do already, you are just making it more difficult on yourself.

Hi Suzanne, I'm new here and I've been reading the information posted. I found them very helpful. I would like to clarify some points specifically for ILLINOIS or MARYLAND::an!:

1) My understanding is that CES does NOT require Philippine/local RN license. If the State BON did not specifically mention that local board is required then I'm eligible to take exams for their state (since they only mentioned CES as their requirement).

2) How long does it take to process CES for both states?

3) How long would it take for me to receive my ATT for both states?

4) Aside from language requirement in Maryland, would there be any other reason why you do not recommend Maryland?

5) If you have the list at hand, could you provide me the states which do not require local license?

:tku:

for those who took the NLE, did you also submitted to CGFNS photocopy of board certificate?
