My job is 24 hours 365 like hospitals due to the pharmaceuticals we make (IV's among other things), 3 12's make the most sense as far as scheduling goes I guess. I love it! ONE of the reasons I dig nursing. Yes a pre-nursing student! I would be EXTREMELY nervous/excited/thrilled/scared/overjoyed if I were where you are now, its a journey!! Your almost there, good luck to you 👏 👍

Don't let a few bad eggs spoil your impression of a wonderful job!

I just really like this. This is exactly what I and many prospective nurses apparently have been doing. Coming from you, a nurse, it means a lot! Thank you.

I love and proud to be a nurse. Nursing is my second degree, my first degree was in Finance then I switch from Finance to Nursing; it was the best decision that I have ever made for myself and my family. I make more money, I have more flexibility and it is definitely more rewarding. I often ask myself why didn't I become a nurse sooner? I also get really good feedback from people when I tell them that I am a nurse. I am so happy I made that choice I just wish that I have done it earlier because I have been a nurse for only 3 years.

Nursing isn't something that you should jump into.  It takes careful consideration and weighing the pros and cons.  You better love it or leave it, that is if you have a choice.

I think it’s either in your blood, or it’s an acquired taste- takes time to like it.  There is limited way to know what it’s like without trying, but if you don’t like it, there are many areas you can move into before you find a great fit.  For me, some of the bigger hospitals treat you like a factory worker.  Smaller offices or private practice might appeal to some and fast paced drama might appeal to others.

I love it, some aspects frustrate me cause it hinders the work we do.

Also I find from many mornings of post night shift breakfasts, nurses love to complain.

I'm absolutely proud of being a nurse. Do I always love the job? Of course not. There's a lot to love and hate about it as does other careers. Right now, the positives outweigh the negatives and I don't plan on leaving this profession no matter how much I'm sick of working on the floor.

The beauty of nursing is that it lets us explore a lot of fields within the profession. We don't have to be stuck in one place (like bedside for example).

My ultimate goal is to be an NP as I just don't see myself staying at bedside for a long time.
