I posted this question in another forum by mistake. I am now posting this question here. I was wanting to know which is better to work for a doc or a hospital? I am a first year nursing student and have heard that a doc's office is better and the pay is better. Let me know what you think. I would like to here both sides of this issue.

well, what i can say about that is:
the hospital is better to work for than working for a doc because working for an hospital will make you more enlightened than you think.
also,better still,you know what you want,i guess.
radiant.
I used to work week-end option LDRP and now work at a Plastic Surgeon's practice.......Ummmmm, the switch to office atmosphere is nothing short of FABULOUS---- No vitals, no report, no call lights, 8 hour work day, on and on! It's the best decision I've made! Plastics offers free perks like Botox, fillers, peels, and one surgery per year.......Not everyone's priority, but I LOVE the benes!!!!!
I cannot wait to leave LTC to work in the clinic. No alzheimer's patients who try to hit you, you stool-filled depends, no angry families who want to know why mom or grandma can't walk anymore (well they're stage 6 dementia now...) or rude doctors who won't take on-call for patients who are very acute, families who want everything done for 100+ year olds with no quality of life, constant falls and neuro-assessments, chasing people with their walkers or begging them to use call lights so they don't fall. then the ones who think pain pills are tic tacs. -sigh- I am so ready to go to the office and have a+o patients who after the visit- GO HOME lol.

I would never make it in the office im at now, without my five years on a med-surg floor at the hospital. It may be hard work but it pays off when you want to go to different areas.
