Do you think this site would profit from a chat room?

I think it would be great if this site had a chat room. Most of these posts are really interesting and I bet would make for great discussion.

Forum chat rooms always end up with the same 5 people taking over and making it un-enterable hell for everyone else.

Plus, chat rooms can be a little unsafe, you never realllllly know who you're talking to, unless you get a customized one.....Im just saying....

I remember seeing post about chats, didn't they have them at one time. I don't like chats, don't even like IM.

Twice upon a time ago there was a chat room. Both times it was shut down, mainly because of user abuse. If you notice that in many posts, especially those that could be considered controversial, people here get very heated and sometimes downright rude. It would be much more difficult to control in a chat room. Then there is the off topic issue.

With as many members as we have on Allnurses one chat room would be a mess if even a small fraction used it. Imagine a chat room with 50 people discussing a dozen topics. It would be a mess. Best just to stick to forum posts. It's much easier to manage.

The chat room idea was canned in the past and I doubt it can be revived.

I agree 100% It would be chaos!! Remember, we already have private messaging for those who feel the need.
