Do you take the TEAS test at the beginning or end of the quarter?

Nursing Students TEAS

Published

I know this is probably a stupid question but when do you take the TEAS test at the beginning or end of the quarter? I wasnt sure if it was to find out what you know before your GEN ED classes or after? Ive been out of school for 5 years so Ive forgotten so much and now Im nervous about getting the score I need on the test. Thanks in advice for any and all info on the test, and Good Luck to everyone that hasn't taken it yet :)

Hey everyone thank you so much for all the great advice!!!!

(since science should be your strongpoint being a pursuing nursing student and all)

And yet, people seem to struggle more with the science section than any other.

hey im set to take the teas version v exam soon i wonder if any of you have practice codes on atitesting.com that i could use. i really need help

I don't have any codes, but I can tell you that it is quite easy, as long as you can pass high school, you can pass the teas test.

Sorry, I don't have any. I was only allowed to access my practice tests twice. I disagree with the above poster.... I thought the test was pretty hard granted I've been out of school for eight years. I had to really study to pass the science portion of it. Good Luck!

If you've taken, passed, and absorbed anything in college composition, algebra, biology, and chemistry, you should be fine on the TEAS test.

I agree with the high school statement though. Everything on the TEAS should have been learned during high school.

For the math, be sure to be able to multiply long numbers and do long hand division. By hand! There are no calculators used during the test.

Do not know about any codes. As for the difficulty of the TEAS. Some people do better than others, but that's just life. The TEAS V is definitely NOT impossible to pass, but I agree with Miiki! You must know how to do math problems by hand. I probably went through 5 pieces of scrap paper doing math problems.

Science seems to be the most difficult for others. I think it is because of the surprise element, where I was expecting more anatomy, but I got mostly chemistry problems.

I bombed the first TEAS with a 65.4%, but the second time I got a 80.7%, not as good as some, but I am HAPPY with that score because it was such an improvement. I have a little bit of test anxiety, and regular anxiety, so I had a slight panic attack in my second test.

Just study study study and dedicate time to each section in the ATI study guide and you will do fine!

Taking the TEAS in the am! Prayers welcome! And good luck to anyone taking it too!

Don't remember a single question on my test that was on my ATI book. Miserably failed.

And the Science section was 98% chemistry. This test was HORRIBLE! please, study, study, study!!!!

Yes! I took the practice test last night and the stuff that they asked wasn't even in the book! Most of it anyway.

what about the chemistry was the hardest? 1)There is no way they went into single/double replacement, decomposition, and combination reactions. 2) What about Stoichiometry problems? e.g if 2.50kg of pentane are burned, how many moles of co2 can be formed?

C5H12 +8 02 ---> 5C02 + 6H20

3) What about "what is the limiting reagent" type questions?

4). Gas conversions?

e.g A gas occupies 228mL at 25C' and 3.00 atm. At what Celsius tempature will it occupy 125 mL if the pressure remains at 3.00 atm?

5) or were most of the questions like ---> naming covalent/ionic compunds, naming elements, fiquring how many valence electrons, isotopes, Lewis structure, balancing equations, cation and anion, ph acid/base/buffer,protons,neutrons,electrons,atomic weight, atomic mass, polar/non polar, Periodic trends ( metals, earth metals, transition metals, non metals, noble gases. etc etc
