Mithie,
You do not have much to worry about, whatever course you ‘think’ you did poorly in; retake them over to bring your GPA up. There are some people who applied to the Nursing program with a GPA of 2.9, but the only factor in that was they had to retake those required course(s) over to bring their GPA up. Just do well on your entrance exam and all the other requirements.

I agree that you should retake any core classes below a B. A&P included. And I dont believe working a 40 hour week job is conducive to suceeding in nursing school. Could you work part time 16-20 hours a week and still make it? I do know people who have worked more in nursing school and some made it through but some didn't. Regardless it was a hard road and they were pretty miserable at times. They were very frustrated because their grades were not where they wanted them.

hi! don't give up! i got into Nova with a 2.8. i'm not sure if the fact i did all my pre reqs at a really good state university helped me but like the other posters recommended, i would retake a bunch of classes. make sure you apply to a lot of private school.. unfortunately you will have a lot of loans but at least you will have your degree in the end. also, there is no way you can work a 9 to 5 in nursing school. school will take up all that time whether it is in the classroom, clinicals, or you are studying. good luck!

try miami dade nursing program. your gpa is not bad to me when i went to bcc and i got a C in chemistry and transfered to miami dade i thought that i would have to have to take that class over to bring my gpa up. but the advisor wouldn't let me sign up so i went to the dean and they explain to me it looks bad when you repeat a class. to me all nursing classes are the same. i'll be finishing my prereqs at miami dade in the summer...
