Do nursing schools frown on repeat classes?

I don't think that the community college program that I was accepted to frowned upon repeated or dropped courses.

I had to repeat A&P I (missed the cutoff by a month); my community college transcript showed 3 withdrawals and my university transcript showed 1 withdrawal.

Depends, in CA there are no repeats. My school averages the two, other schools drop the lower. But even if the school offers full replacement of the lower grade with the higher; if there is a tie, the breaker is most likely going to the applicant that got thier GPA the first time around.

Best bet, call your school and ask.

Depends on the school. You should find out from the programs that you apply to what their rules are. For instance, some schools will only let you repeat 1 or 2 classes max, and others have no limit. My school takes repeats into consideration. Doesn't mean you can't get in, but when competing for limited spots, the student that got the A the first time around might get the spot over the student that took the course twice in order to get an A.

It depends on the school. Where I'm at, they take every grade from a class that you've retaken into consideration. So, if you got a C in one class but retook it again and got an A it doesn't matter-- the C still counts against you. However, they don't care about any withdrawals you've had.

Where I'm at in N. California there are some schools that deduct points if you have a repeat if they are determining if you get in based on a point system.

This depends upon the individual program. You have to investigate before applying. Some people would repeat at a new school and not submit the old transcipts at all. It is taking a chance that one would not get caught.
