don't get the job?
I had an interview, was called again for a follow up walk through, shadowed staff members, etc. and was told by several staff that the walk through pretty much means you have the job when you get to that point. I was told to call this week if I didn't hear anything back. I did. No one returned my call. The website job bulletin was changed today saying that the job is no longer available. I'm afraid I don't have the job now.
Do most hospitals send rejection letters or just ignore candidates this late in the game? I feel terrible.
i must be fortunate in having interviewed in some really outstanding facilities. i nave never interviewed and not been offered a position, that someone form nurse recruiting did not call to tell me that i had not been offered a position, and then follow up with formal written notification.
to the op's original question, the work week is not over yet, and won't be until close of business friday. you still might hear from them. the web site might state the position is no longer available because they are planning on making you an offer. if i did not hear anything by noon tomorrow, i would definitely start calling.
good luck!
I am also n same situation i have interviewed yesterday theu told me that they will call me.until now no call,i am too much disappointed just because fed up with applying everywhere and receiving rejections.i have 3 years OR experience and BSN but still waiting to get a job.but now am not feeling to apply anywhere, that much depressed
:confused:I know what you mean! It's been 5 weeks now since the 2nd. interview at a hospital in Chattanooga and I have contacted HR twice and I was told "If you still see the position on the board, then it's still available." I was with 2 other candiddates that went b4 a panel of 6 (inc. nurse manager). I got ALL the positive verbal/non verbal responses. I know I should keep my chimn held high but as a carnel human being, I can't help but get frustrated and thats to put it lightly!

Call again. There might have simply been a foul-up that you weren't called, e.g. HR thought the hiring manager would call you who thought HR would call you. It's more likely you were not hired, or they simply haven't decided yet, but you won't know w/o calling.
If you call and you didn't get the job, be appreciative of the chance to interview, etc. Talk to the hiring manager and say thanks-for-the-consideration with as much sincerity as you can muster. You never know when making an impression, good or bad, can come back on you.
:twocents:Sadly, there is an increasing level of impoliteness--selfishness--in our society, and it's reflected in interview and hiring practices. Call me an old fuddy-duddy (I'll cop to the "old"), but I remember and appreciate when the courtesy of a rejection notice was normal practice, at least in the industry I used to work in.
