I am not sure what you're asking so I will make myself an example to try to help you. I live in Kansas, I have applied for licensure from the Kansas State Board of Nursing, and I will be taking the NCLEX-RN. If I moved to Missouri, I would apply for licensure from the Missouri State Board of Nursing and then take the NCLEX-RN. I believe that if you pass NCLEX, even if you move from state to state, all you have to do is re-apply to that particular STATE for licensure (costs vary). Does this help any?

Once you have passed NCLEX for one state you endorse to any other but will have to meet their requirements
Hello tobby
Sorry, maybe I didn't state it very clear. It will take a long while for the approval in CA for NCLEX. Therefore I want to apply in Minnesoda. I heard that it will only take one month. But my question is if I submit my applcation for licensure examination to Minnesoda and pass the NCLEX, Can I find job in other state? If I need to retake NCLEX or other exam when I transfer to other state. In Canada, answer is no except Montreal. But I am not sure what is the policy in USA. Many thanks!
Hello redheadnurse
Thank you to share your example. Therefore it is not important to choose which state for registeration at the first time, right? If transfer to other state, only reapply and pay some money and don't need re-take any other exam. Thanks!

I think that's how it works, but Silverdragon said above that you must meet the requirements of each individual state. I think you could probably read about those on their individual websites.
upon passing the nclex-rn exam all you have to do is apply for licensure by endorsment and meet the requirement of the BON of the state where you got a job offer.
for the list of the states you can browse at this website www.ncsbn.org for some updates with regards to their requirements.
hope this helps. goodluck! :redbeathe
Each state has their own requirements when applying for licensure and even when endorsing. Something to be aware of especially when a foreign trained nurse
Also add NCLEX is a national exam and shouldn't in most case have to be taken again. However some states have their own requirements like New York where you have to do a couple of online courses like child abuse before they will issue you with a liense
