Disappointed/What Now?

Nurses General Nursing

I had an interview with Montefiore last month with an NM for ED department. It went really well and they called me back 2 weeks later. The NM said that HR will be contacting me with an offer shortly. I met with HR and the recruiter told me she is offering me the job and that it was ok for me to put in my notice because orientation will start March 28. Long story short, I have given her all my references and all the paperwork they need from my current HR has been faxed to them. The HR recruiter from Monte has been sending me emails about things that I have already sent her, to which I responded to politely. She also has sent me an email that was not for me but to another person with the same first name, but different last name! When I met with her she seemed very confused about who she was meeting with, what was going on, and what papers I have already given her. I am so disgusted and disappointed because I expected a highly sought after hospital to be more organized and on top of everything. Now I will have to extend my resignation at a place (LTC) where everyone's license is in jeopardy every time we work there, because of Monte's irresponsibility. Does anyone have any experience with Montefiore's hiring process and incompetent recruiters?

I would also call and make sure they have the right person, as they seemed confused when they met with you, and you said they gave a different last name.

When I first graduated I was offered a position that I had applied for but not interviewed for. I was thinking "heck yeah, this is awesome!" and then they mentioned "when you interviewed..." it was then that we realized they had the wrong SullyRN, same first AND last name, both new grads.

It would be oh-so-easy for the facility to know who was bad-mouthing them and word to get around. Nursing is a smaller community than you think and the word may get around about your attitude and you may find yourself quietly black-balled in many places, not just Montefiore.

I would reconsider leaving this thread as it is myself. It's not nearly as anonymous as you think.

I get your disappointment, really. But this is not the place, nor is it wise to take it public.

Specializes in PACU, pre/postoperative, ortho.

Seems there was a thread started about 1-2 yrs ago with someone using her own name complaining about a potential (or new) employer by name & then a recruiter from the company posted listing their contact info so they could discuss the problem, lol. Anyone else remember that?

OP, it happens.

Specializes in Med/Surg, Ortho, ASC.
lmao I thought this was a place to vent about things nursing related? And why would I be that unwise to use my real name and age?

I highly doubt that. So many people have said what they wanted to say and have still gotten offers. Yo are being paranoid.

You are too naive to be actually functioning in real time. Truly I hope that you have no ramifications from your post. But you must realize that the possibility is real.

Welcome to the new age.

And, you're welcome.

OP, forget Montefiore, even your current LTC can identify who you are (DSD/DON, here's my 2-wk notice, I will be working at Montefiore).

DSD/DON: Hmmm, I do have a male nurse, who has about 5 yrs experience and at around age 30 who just extended his resignation here AND his name begins with a T.....:roflmao:

OP, I recently posted new grad salary info with two named hospitals; within minutes, I signed back in a removed the hospital names.

EDIT: Not only that, AN Admins could easily correlate your IP address to your city ;)
