Direct Entry MSN 2020 at Columbia University

Updated:   Published

Hello Everyone, The applications for June 2020 at Columbia University has now opened. I haven't seen any new threads for this year so I wanted to start one. I am in the process of applying and half way done! References already sent their recommendations!! and an upside to this year is that Columbia University is no longer requiring the GRE. SO I am pretty happy about that!!

Good Luck!

Congratulations everyone ❤️ I got rejected. I am not surprised but still sad. Just too many classes were in process (anatomy, stats and testing out of lifespan psych since I got Cs)

I’m in for MDE DNP for Psych and got the seamless scholarship for the DNP HOLY COW!!!!!!! Let’s go!!

Decisions decisions. LaGuardia or Columbia? Lol

Hey @Gmilitar - I didn't realize you were in the exact same boat as me! Were you at the Nursing orientation at LGA recently? I've been running around doing all the prepwork stuff. These are wildly different routes, with so much to think about. We should talk offline. Please message me!

I'd love to join this convo also! I'm in the same boat..

It was part of the letter. The scholarship was the guaranteed for the doctoral portion. We would hear about the MDE portion in the coming days.

Lol i never applied to any other nursing program aside from Columbia. But I’m very familiar with the school since i worked there and graduated from there. Ill chime in on what i think are the pros and cons are between the two programs.

Great. I was nervous. I thought i wasn’t afforded any at all. I didn’t apply for the DNP program since I dont know what i wanna do yet.

Thanks!

Accepted!! ??

For the ppl who didn’t get in, sorry to hear the bad news. But trust me, better things are gonna come. We’re all gonna be nurses in the near future! Keep your head up and don’t stop trying!

I got in for MDE/DNP-FNP!!!! Wooo! Very unexpected, but I am so so happy! Best of luck to everyone in your futures, regardless of the decisions you received today! ?

Are you MDE/PhD as well? Do you know if they've given information about scholarships for the MDE portion?

First time posting, long time observer. I got in!

It was the only program I applied to. I go to Laguardia now to finish up my pre-reqs and while I didn’t apply to their program I have heard so much talk about it that I’m curious. I only know of one obvious factor and I find it so interesting (and by that I mean grave) how both programs can have the same caliber Of student but one school is just out of reach financially for many.

Im still accepting and CU is my number one school of choice and it’s worth it to me....But! I’d be interested to see a comparison and to see if, on paper, where exactly the advantages and disadvantages lie in each programs education and career outcome.
