Direct Entry MSN 2020 at Columbia University

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hello Everyone, The applications for June 2020 at Columbia University has now opened. I haven't seen any new threads for this year so I wanted to start one. I am in the process of applying and half way done! References already sent their recommendations!! and an upside to this year is that Columbia University is no longer requiring the GRE. SO I am pretty happy about that!!

Good Luck!

Anyone know where I can find the dates for all events such as accepted students day, orientation, start date, etc. Trying to get prepared for planning the visits if accepted.

Visiting day for accepted students is on February 21st.

3 day orientation: May 27th - May 29th

1st day of classes: June 1st

I got this information from their website: https://www.nursing.columbia.edu/academic-calendar

I have been lurking for awhile but made an account so I can stay up to date and know when decisions are out! I’ve had my email alerts on and have a mini panic moment every single time I get a notification. I really hope we find out on Friday, because otherwise it’s going to be difficult for me to make accommodations for work to attend Admitted Students Day. I have an interview for a different program in a couple weeks and it’s tough to take time off of work. Anyways I wish everyone in here the best of luck and hope it all turns out in our favor!

lol i’m not even gonna get my hopes up for jan. they did say early feb. i heard feb 1st.

In a previous year, they said mid-February when people were discussing about decision releases on 1/29 and literally the next day decisions were released ?

lol...I'm so nervous and excited at the same time. Different emotions running through my head on how I'm going to react once they let us know. Hoping for good news for all of us.

I feel like the 2020 cohort is very social compared to the past years. Or it's probably because everyone is super nervous because it can be anytime between tomorrow to next week.

last year they released decisions 1/25 at 1pm

Ditto! Lol

For people who are in the MDE program/have completed the MDE program (only MDE): do you feel like most people in your cohort have a background in the medical field?

for ppl in the program. are there a lot of ppl who fail out of the program or drop out? especially during the summer term.

Not during my class. Very few didn’t finish
