Hello Everyone, The applications for June 2020 at Columbia University has now opened. I haven't seen any new threads for this year so I wanted to start one. I am in the process of applying and half way done! References already sent their recommendations!! and an upside to this year is that Columbia University is no longer requiring the GRE. SO I am pretty happy about that!!
Good Luck!

Reading all of your messages convinced me to apply to CU and I want each and every one of you to get in! Even if the odds are not in my favor (KNOCKING ON FREAKING WOOD) I hope they are in yours ?
lol we’re all in the same boat. the odds are all against our favor; this is one of the best nursing programs plus it’s an ivy. but let’s stay positive. we got this
I am with everyone on feeling extremely nervous. My appetite has been zilch and my stomach has been in knots. Friendly reminder to go for a walk, meditate, or read a book/play an instrument! I have found it’s helping a lot with mellowing out and being able to get sleep. I have an interview next week and seriously hope to hear back from Columbia beforehand so I can lose some stress. ?

You mentioned you’re from the area right? At least NYU has a later application date and it’s still a good program! Columbia is my top choice, but my home state has a very affordable Masters program level too that I applied to as well as Duke. I think if I don’t get into Columbia I’ll definitely consider NYU, they have a very good program as well!
I've applied to several schools all which have rejected my application. I have a 4.0 prereq GPA but my overall cumulative is about a 3.1
Columbia is my last chance at this point, feeling discouraged to even move further if I get another rejection.
Hoping for a better outcome this time around!

have a BS in Biology but my undergrad GPA is a 3.1. Prereq GPA is a 3.8 but I also retook A/P I and II. At this point, it is what it is! We put our best foot forward and now we wait ?
Although I haven’t really looked into the deadlines for NYU, I have thought about applying. I just didn’t wanna go through all the work of applying to a lot of other schools knowing that, if i get accepted to Columbia, I would most likely choose Columbia. lol I’d rather apply to my top choice and then see what my options are after I receive their decision. I also inquired about other programs, Hopkins and Marquette, and started filling out parts of their app, but i never submitted. The recruiter from Marquette told me that I have to retake Nutrition from another school since the one I took from LaGuardia is not acceptable; this honestly just discouraged me from applying to that school. I’m broke, lol, so I’m reluctant to spend money or take out loans to pay for a class that I just took recently. Other than that, she’s been keeping in touch with me and encouraging me to apply.
My major is integrated but the classes that I took closely resembles courses that a bio major/premed students would take. GPA 3.7. Didn’t calculate my prereq GPA but its probably more than 3.7 but less than 4.0. But then again, its Columbia lol
