Hi, this has been posted several times but i'm looking more recent opinions. I did okay on Hesi, high 900's; and am scheduled to take NCLEX in 3 weeks. I did not have money to pay for Kaplan course (which I really wish I could have taken), but opted instead for the Kaplan book, and maybe another one TBD. I took Kaplan cd practice test and got a 68%! I don't really get some of the rationales....some of the questions are so close to being right it is hard to choose. I plan to hit it hard for the next 3 weeks but am really on the verge of freaking out and rescheduling.
Do I have a chance here? I'm a decent student, and am wondering if I'm gonna pass this darned thing! Does the hesi really predict that I am ready to take the NCLEX? What was your hesi score and did you pass the boards the first time around?

I made a 994 on my HESI exit exam and passed NCLEX on my first try....but unlike some people, I thought NCLEX was a lot more difficult than HESI. On HESI, there is only one right answer out of four....on NCLEX, there can be one, two, three, four, or more right answers. NCLEX made me crazy, and I felt like I bombed it- but I did somehow pass! You'll probably do fine, but don't take it for granted :)

I made a 1062 and passed on my first try with 75 questions. I did the Hurst review and used Saunders, NCLEX 3500, and the Prioritization book by Lacharity. Make sure to study infection control and endocrine really well. The questions on the NCLEX make you have to know your core content really, really well in order to get the answer right.
Don't reschedule. I was freaking out and almost rescheduled, but my husband wouldn't let me, so I definitely know how you feel. You have 3 weeks, which is plenty of time. Do at least 100 questions daily. You will be fine! Good luck.

Well I took HESI 3 times, first try 683, second 750 and the third 965. When I take the Exam Cram and the Saunders Practice I get above average or 85%. HESI was difficult for me, but I don't know what to expect from NCLEX? Did it change from 2009?

The exam is reviewed every 3 years and changes made if it is felt necessary. Just look on the NCSBN website and you can find all information regarding it. RN changes slightly in April
I passed, FYI!!! My studying with tattered, ratty, old library study guides paid off!!!

I know this board is back from January, but now I am curious to know what you thought after taking the NCLEX...how did it compare (question wise) to HESI? I took hesi in October, passed by a little bit, and am now waiting for graduation in 2 weeks and my ATT letter. So NCLEX should be in the next couple of months. I felt like hesi question were very specific and pin point but I felt like it should have been more broad based...is NCLEX like that?
