Hello everyone!!! This question is specifically for those who have passed the NCLEX using the online Hurst Review....other comments are welcome as well. I'm looking for a study plan. This will be my 3rd time taking the NCLEX...and hopefully my last.....about 3 more weeks!! I have watched all the online videos and have begun reading over my notes...which is going kinda slow since I want to memorize everything!! Just wanted to know what study plan you used....did you read over the notes over and over, did you make flash cards, etc. Please let me know, I graduated in December and I am SO ready to get this license and stop studying!! Thanks so much in advance!!
Take it from me I took Hurst Online with 3 weeks before testing and it made all the difference for me. The study plan i used was just reviewing the notes. I didn't do flashcards because time was of the essence for me. However i did make a schedule and i would do like fluid and electrolytes for two days and another topic for two days. It worked for me. I passed with 75 questions. Remember the goal is to get more right than wrong as Marlene would say...best of luck youll do wonderful:balloons:
I attended the live review...it is the same as what is online. This was my second time taking nclex-rn. I attended the class, spent a few days reviewing the book to refresh, then I did questions on cd's. Hurst doesn't really think you should spend time answering q's b/c they think you should know the content, but if you only do their book and their q's...that's not enough. I did manage to pass last Tuesday, but my test didn't really apply to that review! You have to get the content down, but you need to practice sitting in front of the computer and getting in that frame of mind. I highly suggest reading over your Hurst material and knowing it, do their q's they provide esp. prioritization, triage, and maternity prioritization. Then, get out a good cd the week before the test and do the areas you are weak in, but mostly do med-surg, management, prioritization, alternate formate, and pharmacology. That's what I did. There is no way you can learn every drug, but by practicing those types of q's will help. So, once you have that content down, move on and do some practice q's. Don't get all upset if you don't score well on the q's. esp. the ones made by Hurst. You will do fine. Stay positive and good luck. You can do it.
first of all, congrats, madimomma i know passing was a big relief- i am currently using the hurst online review, i test next week. did it help? what other stuff, if any did you use? did you look at all videos? talk to me about it. i have 1 more week and hopefully will be in your shoes.
