I took the NCLEX exam today and it was terrible. Everytime I would read a question I would think, that is a no brainer, this is what needs to happen. Without fail, the answer I wanted was never there . It was terrible. I graduated with 4.0 and I don't think I passed it. There were many things on there I've never even heard of. I know they are looking for a basic level of competency but what is that level? I didn't get any "basic" questions, I felt like they were all hard but the same hard. I didn't feel like they fluctuated in difficulty like I expected them to. I had 75 questions, do you think that is a good thing or that I just failed really badly. So worried. Please somebody help!!!!!!!
I was sooo glad to find this thread. I took my NCLEX today. I felt very prepared. But...at about 35 questions, I asked myself if it was time to just leave. I felt that bad about it all. When I got up to question 74, I started praying that it wouldn't shut off at 75. Then it did. I just sat there. I walked out in tears, told my family I knew I had failed and proceeded to try to find answers to the questions I could remember - Many of which weren't in my Saunder's book. I scored high on my nursing exams and the HESI tests, but this test - wow. I had no math, about 8 "select all that apply" and tons of assignment/priority questions. I also kept getting questions that were very similar. This waiting is terrible. My heart goes out to those who have to wait for "mail results." Good luck to all. My prayers are with you.
tess , keep your head up, i also had no math questions , had only 75 questions, also felt like the last ten questions repeated themselves, and i had to wait on the mail to come, i still passed, so good luck and i also like you had alot of priority questions, which were awful, the one i can still remember was that all these patients i had were all going to die and which one needed priorty imediete care, anyway good luck .....
I took the nclex RN today and I too shut off at 75. I got 5 select all that apply and no math calculations. I also had tons of prioritizing and who would you discharge first, who would you call back first, etc. I don't think the questions got much harder or easier. I am so nervous. I feel like I got all of them wrong. Please help!!!!!

Devo165 - I hear you. The last 33 hours have been awful. I am ssssooo thankful for this website/thread. It has given me hope as I hope it does you too. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
One of my instructors told me not getting math questions was a good thing. She said these are more basic questions. Does anyone know if this is true?
Do the results ever post outside of "normal working hours?" (will they post this late at night or will it be morning before they post again?)
Hey Tess322- How is it going? I also heared that no math questions is a good thing and that a lot of prioriy questions indicate higher level questions, but who knows? I don't know if you get the results earlier, because my friend took it a day before me and her results we available after about 49 hours after she started the test. (She passed with 175 questions!) So I don't know if they come sooner, but believe me, I have been checking! Good luck and I hope to address the two of us as tess322 R.N. and devo165 R.N.-
Keep me updated!

All the questions are easy when you are familiar with the content!
It is very hard to tell which are the "hard" questions and which are the easier questions. What seems hard to one person may be easier to another. When I review the questions, I am often surprised that an easy item turned out to be hard for the candidates and vice-versa. It really comes down to how candidates performed when the item was pretested. If high-ability candidates had a hard time with it, it will test out to be a hard item.
