I could use some advice. I got a call last Wednesday about setting up an interview for my dream job. I couldn't answer the phone because I was at work but she left a message for me to call back. I called and did just that on Thursday. She didn't call me back and wasn't in on Friday so here I was waiting until Monday. Nothing, so I called again and left another message. It's now the end of the day on Tuesday and I still haven't heard back. Did I miss my chance? I don't know her last name so I can't email her and I can't go there in person because it's 450 miles away. I don't want to keep leaving messages as she may sense my desperation but I want this interview, BAD. Should I just keep calling and hope she eventually answers/gets back to me or is there more I can do? Thanks ahead of time. I am on vacation, I should be relaxing but all I can think about is this!

I had a similar situation happen to me just a couple weeks ago. I replied/applied via email to a job posted on craigslist. I got a call from the administrator a couple days later...missed the phone call because I was still in bed sleeping (d'oh!). I called her back just an hour later and left her a message. No call back. Called again the next day and she was unavailable. Called a 3rd time with message left. No response. Unfortunately, she must have called someone else who actually answered the phone and was able to schedule an interview with that person.
Or maybe she was just calling to tell me no, not interested...who knows! I was very disappointed that I missed her phone call and that despite trying to reach her several times, I was unsuccessful.

No, you might still have a chance. I think you're acting a little paranoid. Wait a week and call back. Make sure that they're not interested in scheduling an interview with you anymore instead of living with the uncertainty. That's what I would do, maybe shes on vacation too! And I would stop leaving messages and just call and hang up if no one answers since you've already left a couple messages already.
I am paranoid because it's such a great opportunity and I really need a new job! I have only left two messages, one last week and one yesterday. I guess I will keep calling and hoping someone answers. Someone has to eventually I appreciate the feedback.

They have so many people applying for jobs these days ..and it's really hard when you work and have to sleep. I would leave another message to the effect that you are interested and sorry you missed the call but is there anyway to connect with them you would appreciate it.
I got a call today to set up a phone interview for tomorrow. I prefer in person but I am excited regardless. Let's hope I can wow them! I want this really bad!
