I just got done with the nclex and it shut off after 75 questions. Honestly, I'm positive I got two right; the rest are a crap shoot.
One of my profs said if it shuts off at 75, you most likely passed. I also heard from a nurse educator that she knew folks who got to 260 and passed, and others who failed when it shut off at 75.
Do you know (and I mean know personally, not the urban myth kind of know) anyone who failed at 75? How confident should someone be if they shut off at 75?
I can't wait until Tuesday to find out!!!!

If you look in the poll section here there is a huge one on this topic. Last I checked I think about 85% of the people who got 75 passed. I got the min. # on both my LPN and RN, was very confident I had passed and thankfully I did. Good luck!

The # of questions does not reflect a pass/fail. You can pass/fail with 75-265 questions. However, more people do pass with 75 questions than fail. Try the "Pearson Vue trick," if you can not wait. According to many post on here, this trick seems to be quite accurate.

So far, my class have 8 of us who have taken the board so far, we all got 75 questions and passed. I think although it is possible to fail, but you have a better chance of passing. For the computer to shut at 75 and and failed, someone would have to be doing poorly and the computer decides, there is no way you going to pass, even if i give you 190 more questions. Maybe someone who failed with 75 questions, may only got 5 to 10% questions correct.

I know one person who got 75 questions and failed.
No matter how many questions you get, your chance of passing is about 85%. It doesn't matter if you got 75 or 260 or anywhere in between, the average pass rate is 85%.
