Any one get accepted for the fall yet???? :nurse:

How did you feel :heartbeat when you got the letter? Any advice...something you would have done...or not have done?

People aren't finished with the TEAS test yet - You probably won't hear anything until April.

Emails will be sent out tommorow (friday)!! Good luck everyone!!

I got my acceptance email today. I was pretty excited!! This is my 1st time applying, so I wasn't too sure how it was going to go. My gpa is probably average (at best) but I scored really well on the TEAS. When I finished the guy that proctored the test said that I should be very happy because I scored well in the 2 most important areas. Even with the good score, I was really nervous the last few weeks. I really don't have much wisdom to share because I am in a unique situation. I had a bachelor's in biology, so I only had two pre-reqs to complete (Psych & Soc). I am in Psych 215 now & I guess I will take Soc 290 in the summer. The advisor I talked to suggested that I wait to apply because I got a C+ in micro (from the univ. I graduated from) and she said I would have a better chance if I retook the class at JJC. I planned to do that but I figured I would apply anyway this time just to see. I guess I'm glad I did!

Now that I've gotten in, I'm nervous all over again. I hope that I can handle all the work!! I have a job and an almost 2 year old son, so I know it's going to be tough!

Good Luck & Congratulations to the others that were accepted!

I didn't get in and I'm ******. I scored a 79 on the TEAS, 95 in reading, completed all gen eds, a 3.75 gpa even have had micro, soc and nursing 100. I have a B.A. from U of I. Tell me why I can get into the premier state university, but not JJC.

Congrats Kimbley!! I will be applying in Augest and Im soo nervous...

what did you use to study for the teas?? any other tips...I will be taking A&P I in the summer and hoping that will bring my gpa up higher...

Congrats again!!

Happyinillinois, im sorry you didnt get in, Augest is not too far away, you can apply again!! good luck!

Would the people who got in mind sharing their application info (gpa, classes taken, teas score, etc.)

My application info (for spring 2010) will be about the same as happyinillionois, and he/she did not get in. This worries me a great deal. I feel like those really are good scores and grades!

Congrats to those who got in!

I applied ( 4th time doing so) and finally got in. I was about to give up to be honest. My GPA is only 3.0 , my Teas was overall 82% my reading was 95 and my comprehension was 93. Those are the most important from what I was told. I have no idea what advice to give except to doing very well on the reading and comprehension portion as its the most important! Hang in there!!

congrats!! My gpa is about the same as yours, and well....im pretty nervous!!

Aimee,

what did you do to prepare for the teas?

I got the ATI teas study guide and studied my butt off. The thing is, the science portion of the study guide didn't really help with the TEAS test IMO. I had taken the TEAS a few years ago and thats where my higher scores came from. The last time I took it the TEAS changed and was a harder test. Science is my weak area and math and english are my strong suit. The science questions I remember were things like, " What is the compound of the underlying area of a volcano?", etc - things I could'nt study for.

I would just say to really brush up on any weak areas you have before you take the TEAS. If you aren't comfortable with your GPA then retake a class and strive for an A, thats what I had to do.

Reading and comprehension are the most important so try to get that mastered - thats most important to them. Good luck!!
