Did anyone apply to UCLA's MECN Program for Fall 2009?

Published

Just wondering if anyone else applied to this program. I went to UCLA for undergrad but I pretty much think I have no shot of getting into this grad program.

Does anyone know anything about how many people they admit? What they are looking for?

Right. And even if we have a representative sample, we'd need to get 8 or 9 nos to each yes. Yikes!

yeah i kinda doubt it's the rejection letters first. Shelli said they all went out on Friday.

But we were also told that some went out on thursday too..so maybe the rejection letters went out on thursday and the rest went out on friday?

im waiting to hear from sac state, sf state, and concordia irvine, so lets hope someone wants me!

Or maybe she hasn't even mailed the ones to the UK yet. ;)

Martini, did you get mail?

hello fellow nurses-to-be! i too have been following this board and planned on submitting a post upon receipt of a letter. i had my husband run home during lunch to check the mail, but didn't receive anything from ucla! so i'm wondering why someone from norcal received a letter already, but not me? i live less than 5 miles from ucla!

haha maybe!

that 'londongal' from the other thread wasn't actually from the uk and she just emailed me saying that she also got rejected!

I'm getting scared now :scrying:

Maybe you are in the 'accepted' batch! don't loose faith!!

I think the truth of the matter is we're going to be seeing many more rejections because unfortunately most of us will be rejected. I really see this as a numbers game, since I'm sure we are all qualified!

you're too sweet, sarah! i wish i can genuinely believe that, but my "specs" aren't so great. i have zero hospital volunteer experience so i know that's going to hurt me. i also realized that i should have applied to more schools like CSULA, but stupid me just applied to 2!

Thats true..and i NEVER win the lottery!! :crying2:

I wonder what the peoples stats/experience were that got rejected.

Don't worry, my application wasn't perfect either, my gpa is probably far lower than the majority of applicants, even though i took advanced courses within my undergrad degree. :typing

I'm hoping my experience will help..but who knows what they're looking for!
