Did anyone apply to the CSUN A-BSN program?

Published

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone here applied so that we could wait it out together. Since the deadline was on 2/1 there is nothing else to do but wait...and it is already killing me!

I did call again this week and was told that the applications are with "the committee" now. They know that they are under a tight time constraint and will be notifying people soon. The person I spoke to said that they would either be sending a letter or calling people in for interviews. She also said that if you applied for Summer you will probably be notified first since the summer session starts at the end of May. So those of us (I applied for Fall only not summer) that applied for Fall may have a bit of a longer wait in store but who knows when. So that is the new info I have. Once any one hears anything please post. Thanks!

thank you hope and future for updating!!!

yes, indeed...Hope271 thanks for checking with CSUN. I also applied and I'm wondering when we'll hear something...anything!

It's already been a long wait; they haven't said how many they're going to interview, or have they? Back in Feb. one woman at CSUN...Iris I think...said that all the people with completed applications will be interviewed but I find that really hard to believe now...in April.

Hi npatient, I don't think they ever stated how many applicants will get an interview. I just checked the application again and it says that an interview may be required of applicants. Maybe they admit some applicants without an interview? Who knows? All I know is lately I'm generally in a bad mood/state of limbo because I want to know if I have a chance in he** of being admitted to this program! Hang in there everyone (she says, taking her own advice:) The wait will be over soon!!

Hi! I'm also waiting to hear back. It's kind of stressful, especially when people keep asking if you've heard yet...ahh!

Just wondering: Have any of you gotten accepted to CSULA's ELMN program but really plan to go to CSUN's A-BSN program if you get in there?

I didn't...what's ELMN? the only BS program I've applied to is CSUNs; I don't plan to leave the area(move)...speaking of programs--I noticed on the UCLA thread that the students accepted to UCLA's program had to either accept or decline by April 4th...I would think many of them also applied to CSUN but would choose UCLA if accepted. just speculation. 55 accepted to UCLA I think.

Entry Level Masters in Nursing is ELMN for CSULA. You are correct that CSUN is one of the few BSN programs in the LA area. I agree with you about the students that got accepted to UCLA. Unfortunately, I think that many students have told several schools they plan to attend to keep their options open until they decide! This forces students on the wait list to play the waiting game until late May or June! Where else have you applied to?

Good morning everybody, I just called the health sci office. They said that no notifications of admission have been sent out yet. They'll be sent out at the END of April. The wait continues...

so they're admitting people without doing interviews afterall?

Looks that way, doesn't it? Ugh.

FNP08---thanks for the update! just this morning as I was driving to work I was thinking "what is going on at CSUN?!" so to find out some news is good. Maybe they ran outta time to go thru the interviews with all of the decision makers.

Lillian, I'm on the 2 yr. waitlist at Moorpark where I took all of the pre-reqs.

Me again...hey, "no notification of admission" doesn't mean they aren't interviewing applicants right now...maybe they are??

if they're interviewing candidates as I type this then I can assume I'm not going to get a notification of admission at the end of April.
