Did anyone apply to the CSUN A-BSN program?

I was wondering if anyone here applied so that we could wait it out together. Since the deadline was on 2/1 there is nothing else to do but wait...and it is already killing me! :bugeyes:

Hi Hope! Oh no! :( I didn't mean to freak you out any more than you already are, as we all are who are waiting to hear from CSUN. I'm sorry. I guess I thought it'd be good to put all the info I have out there. The person who said that 700 people applied also said s/he thought that 200 might be complete, competitive apps. Gosh, this waiting is really awful. I'm really ready to hear my status either way.:bugeyes:

wow! are you sure 700 applied?!?! when i called, the person at the office told me a completely different number...i can't remember the exact number but it was somewhere between high 200s or high 300s and she was more than happy to check my application status for me... maybe i'll call them tomorrow and check again...

700 seems way too high. Other than this program I have only applied to masters entry programs and they typically get 300-350 applications. I certainly hope that CSUN didn't get 700 applications (or even 300 for that matter!). I wouldn't stand a chance. :( The competition to get into ANY nursing program is now ridiculous. I think I would stand a better chance of getting into medical school!

700 applicants!!?? Thats way more than i was expected. I remember one of the professors saying that they had about 100 applicants for the summer 07 program. I applied for both summer and fall, but still 700 for 36 spots, that seems impossible for me:( did you apply for both summer and fall??

Hi Maybe, Kath, and Passion...I'm not at all sure about the 700 thing. There is another thread about CSUN A-BSN 2008 applications on this website. The poster had called the nursing office for an update on his status, and he was told that he couldn't get an update b/c 700 ppl had applied. Perhaps the nursing office representative was talking about the total number of applicants for all programs? I certainly hope so!

Passion, I applied for both summer and fall. How about you?

i wish i applied to more programs too... i only applied to 3 schools... i want to stay in california... i was lazy and didn't want to apply anywhere that required the gre... its not looking too good for me and i think i'll probably have to start studying for the gre and apply to more schools next year

Maybemaybenot what were you told about your status when you called? I have been to afraid to call and check but maybe I will tomorrow. I applied for the Fall only and this is the only school I applied to. So if I don't get in I guess I will have some time off...

the lady was going to check for me but i didn't have time to wait... i'm going to call them again to make sure everything is ok... don't be scared to call! they're usually really nice when i call... (=

Ok, so I called the nursing dept today. The girl who answered said she really didn't know any info but she thought letters would be sent in a couple of weeks. So I guess we are still in the same spot of no new info. I guess it just depends on who answers when you call. Some people may have more info then others. I wish they would post updates on their website so you could just go their and check in on your status. It would ease my mind a little. Although ultimately I just want a decision whether it is good or bad. Oh well, maybe if someone else calls later today they will get someone else with more info.

Has anyone heard anything from CSUN ABSN program? It is already April and they said they would start interviewing people in early April. Considering that the summer program starts in June(I could be wrong), they should select 18 students for summer program anytime soon. Please let me know if you have got any news from them:bow:

Hope you're all hanging in there. The waiting was really getting to me today, much more than usual. Haven't heard a peep out of Northridge yet! Will post when I hear something :typing
