Did anyone apply to the CSUN A-BSN program?

I was wondering if anyone here applied so that we could wait it out together. Since the deadline was on 2/1 there is nothing else to do but wait...and it is already killing me! :bugeyes:

Veruca you were admitted to the A-BSN program? How were you notified by letter or phone call? When did you hear? Did you interview? Was it for Fall or Summer? You can't just leave us hanging we are all waiting to hear!!!!!

So, just to clarify, I applied to the 2nd Bachelor's in Nursing at CSUN.

Shortly after I applied, I got an acceptance from the university (which is really just a formality when all you care about is the department) in a regular-sized envelope. Then, a couple of days ago I got a 9"x12" envelope with a letter saying that I was accepted to the department. I think it was the acceptance into the program because it was printed in color, but I didn't read it very closely. When I get home, I'll look at it again & let you know for sure.

veruca, first of all, congrats on getting into the program! I wasnt worried too much since none of us here have heard anything from CSUN. but now that i know some people are actually getting admitted, i am extremely worried!!! When you hear from them??

oh ok so a couple days ago, you got the acceptance letter from ABSN program. Sorry, i am too anxious to read correctly. oh wow.

Also, I think it was for Fall 08--that's what CSU mentor says I applied for.

I also got a color letter but in January which was to the University and it came in a bigger envelope. Please double check and let us know if it is to the university or to the department. Because as of yesterday someone here called the dept and they said they had not sent anything yet. Thanks!

Hi. I also called the department today and they said they will notify people about the A-BSN program in a few weeks. (I took that to mean by the end of April...) The large envelope which verucafreeze got was probably the same one that I got a few weeks ago - it was from the University and was basically a welcome and information about the University. I had also previously received a regular sized envelope with a letter notifying me of admission to the University (I mailed this to the nursing department because they want a copy of it).

That's what I was thinking too Lillian. Since several of us have called if they had sent out notifications they would have told us. I can't wait until this is over, it is so stressful.

Veruca, congratulations if indeed you've been accepted! I know you worked very hard to get where you are and you're a smart cookie. I wish you the best.

Hope and Lillian, I feel the same way and you are *not* alone! Even though I'm happy for the success of others, my heart jumped when I read that someone may've been accepted and none of us knew about it sooner. I suppose I'll feel the same way, heart-in-throat and all, no matter how I hear if I'm not accepted. It'll mean the world to me if I make it into the program this year, and if not, it'll honestly be a big setback for me but I'll deal with it and move on. I quit my old job because I feel a need to lead a more meaningful life, making compassion, respect, and humanity for others my purpose. Anyhoo just wanted to touch base w/you, as always I'll post if I hear about anyone getting accepted.

hey y'all,

CSUN called! While I was at work today; scheduled an interview for next week. it was a very short phone call and I couldn't even think straight cuz my boss was barking out questions from his office at the same time.

maybe they finished the summer group interviews and they're starting the interviews for the fall group?? I applied to either.

Wow, finally we hear of an interview! Congratulations!!!!! From what I understand they have not interviewed for Summer yet. It sounds that way from the many people on the board that have been calling CSUN. They said they will work on the Summer cohort first and then move on to Fall so maybe that is what your interview is for, how exciting!!! Please post every excrutiating detail so that we can join in your excitement. What day are you going? Did they tell you if it is a comittee interview or just with the Director? Has anyone else gotten a call?? If so did you apply for Summer, Fall, or both?

Congrats again, I am waiting impatiently to hear about your experience! :up:
