Did anybody else have this issue?

I took the nclex-pn last month on april 9th, found out I passed a couple days later, but also that I had to wait and find out if I could be licensed after a review of some of my background information...so I called the nebraska state board of nursing today on may 15th...and they said that they still have to review my application and that they are not going to do that until June 14th! Which means that they probably won't get back to me with an answer until even later! Does this not seem crazy to anybody... To have to wait over two months after taking NCLEX to find out if I can become licensed?!? I think when I called the 1.800 number to find out if I passed the NCLEX the automated voice told me I passed but that does not mean I will be automatically licensed...because the board will have to review my app and that will take 4-6 wks...maybe that is why I'm shocked to find out it will take more like 9 weeks. Oh and by the way! What exactly do they have to review...do they have to check my background to make sure I have a clean enough record to be a nurse?!? If I don't have a clean enough record then why not tell me before I took the test ( A TEST THAT I STUDIED FOR 100+ HRS!) Anyway...did anybody else have this issue...having to wait over two months after taking NCLEX to find out if they are an LPN? And, does anybody else think that this is messed up?!? Could you imagine if your kid took a final and they passed it...but then they had to wait over two months afterwards to find out if it even mattered?!?

I didn't have to wait 2 months, just one and I had something on my background. Keep the faith and see your license coming in the mail :)

Sorry you're having to go through this :( It probably could be transcripts, reviewing your background check, or possibly Pearson Vue could be the hold up as well. Wishing you a good outcome:hug:

Is there something in your past that may prevent you from being approved for a license?

I am in CA and I had an infraction in my background that had to be reviewed by the board. They sent me a letter before I took the exam, sometime in early March stating I had to provide certified copies of the police report and letter detailing what lead to the citation. The letter stated it would take between 8-12 weeks to complete this review. I mailed in the requested documents and set my exam date for April 27,2012. I checked with the board a few weeks before my exam to check the status. I was told that they needed more information and requested it from the city policed department that the citation was written, and they would wait for the info to arrive. But, they could make a decision without as soon as they got notice that I took and passed the exam.

I passed the exam on April 27, and got my results in the mail May 11th. I emailed the board and they pulled my file and made the decision that same day. On May 12th I had a packet in the mail stating they decided to issue me my license.

I drove to the board and paid in person for my license on May 14th.

So, long story short, my turnaround time was about 1.5 months from request for info until decision. Good luck.. I am sure things will turn out fine.. it does suck to have to wait to get something you worked so hard for.

May I ask what kind of citation you had?
