I am preparing for clinical tomorrow and am hoping that someone could help me understand this order.
Dextrose/water MB + 50ml
1000mg rocephin 50 ml total
I understand that it is a total of 1000mg of rocephin in 50ml of dextrose, but what is dextrose MB? Should it say dextrose 5% or another type of dextrose. Dextrose MB is not in my drug guides', I tried to google it and it made it seem like it possibly is D5W but it wasn't clear.
Thanks for any help:)

I don't think I've heard of Dextrose MB?

I googled it and I think it stands for multiple electrolyte balanced solution or Multiple electrolyte, balanced. Probably has to do with balancing the osmolarity of the solution in order to make it compatible for intravenous infusion.

this is why abbreviations can lead to med errors. When you encounter this as a nurse, call the Pharmacy or the Physician for clarification.
