Denver School of Nursing 2014

U.S.A. Colorado

Published

Hi Everyone,

I am starting this thread for people who are applying to Denver School of Nursing for any 2014 start date. I will be applying for the October 2014 start. It would be nice if other people who plan to apply will post their application/acceptance process. I know that I will be curious to see when other people start receiving calls for interviews. I hope to get into the ASN program, but I am a little nervous about my grades. I have gotten B's in all my pre-reqs and in the process of taking A&P 1, and may get a C...yikes. I do volunteer at Littleton Hospital, so hoping that will help. Can anyone else talk about what they are doing to hopefully get accepted in this school?

Thank you!

Oh and I applied for the BSN completion since I already have a degree.

I applied for October start last week.:)

Really? That's great. Well good luck to you! Who knows maybe we will be in class together :)

I also just applied for the October 2014 start. And now the waiting begins........

It's so hard to wait!!!!

Good luck to you all! Please let me know if you have any questions. I am starting quarter 3 of the BSN program on Monday!

Hey you all, did anybody get their conformation email from them ?

Hey ,do you get any vacation between two quarters?

Also, I'm considering carpooling to school with other students If I get accepted to save some money so anyone else who's interested please let me know!

This question is for Boxer Mama.

I have applied for the October 2014 start date and I am recently engaged. I'm hoping to get married during the two week break in June 2015 and was wondering if they've released when the breaks will be in 2015. I understand if they haven't set the dates just figured I'd ask since you're already in their program.

Also, from your experience, how long after the deadline did they contact you to set up an interview?

I'm staying positive but just curious as to when I should start worrying lol.

On the school's website (mydsn.net), they do have the calendar posted through 2016. But, (yup, there is a but), during the two-week break, there is the chance that you will have a clinical or orientation for an upcoming clinical. You can make a request to the clinical office about trying to be off that break, but they can only do so much if the facility makes them change your schedule (which just happened to me today).

As for when they contacted me, I think it was between 5-6 weeks after the application deadline.

Good luck, and let me know if you have any more questions!

I got an email stating that my application had been received. It did reiterate that notifications for those selected for interviews would be 6 weeks after the close date.....sooo 3 more weeks to go!

The email went to my junk folder so those of you still waiting to find out if your app was received check your junk mail!!

Anxious to hear back from DSN!
