the Denver II Developmental Screening Test

Published

Can anyone help me to find instructions about how to use the Denver II Developmental Screening Test? My textbook describes the test, and my manual has a chart and a sheet with a list of items, but no instructions about how to give the test. Thanks if anyone knows how to use the test.

First you need to make a line from top to bottom of page intersecting the childs age and barrs that it intersects are things that the child should be able to do give or take a little. There are special kits with all the tools and toys needed or you can improvise. Questions marked with a certain letter can simply be answered by the parents others you must see the child do, like feed a doll a bottle etc. It's fairly simple although it usually takes quite a bit of finessing to get children of certain ages to cooperate. Good luck!!

Are you a student ?

We had to do a Denver II for a grade - but were provided the kits containing the needed testing materials and an instruction booklet.

Thanks. Yes I am doing re-entry, so that makes me a student again. The textbook only has a description of the purpose of the test, and the manual has a chart but no instructions. I'm searching around for instructions.

The Denver materials are posted in the thread titled 'Developmental Assessment Tools' tacked at the top of the forum.

We had to do a Denver II on a child for class, too. It helps to choose a newborn... fewer things to test them on!

Could someone please email me the instruction to the denver II?

Thank you

Call around to some pediatricians' offices, or public health nurses and ask for a blank screening form. They'll probably help you out.

^^ yeah, thats my plan for tomorrow after my 8-12noon class. :) thanks for the help! :)
