I graduated BSN in the Philippines 2007 After taking the exam 2x they re-evaluate my application and found out that i did not qualify to take the exam. I found out that my cases did not meet there requirements.

1st question: Do you think i can still be eligible to apply to another state like florida?

2nd question: Can i apply for LVN?

Please. Any advice????

Thanks.

@BayAreaResident: Well if you have been following this thread, so far, only firm1234 got his eligibility to take the test. It's because his cases were concurrent with the theories. I'm on the same boat as you and I'm still wondering what would be the best thing to do..

@honeypie2008 I'm sorry, I can't still reply with your PM mine is still disabled..Well so far I guess it's not just us who are affected by this. I think every foreign graduate from philippines has the same dilemma. I really hope that this problem will be resolved ASAP..

Yes I have been following this thread. I've looked at A LOT of threads on this topic and have seen firm1234 mentioned. At this point I think our only option would be to apply for NCLEX-PN. If all nursing courses in the Philippines are similar, I'm pretty sure over 99% of us Philippine graduates will not qualify for the NCLEX-RN.

Priority was given to completion of scrubs not having the RLE and lecture concurrently. You can't really blame the schools because from what I remember PRC does not require the concurrency that CABON does. And since we went to school in the Philippines, I would believe PRC requirements would take precidence over qualifying in a foreign country. We'll see how this goes on though. What is really interesting is how CURRENT license holders will be affected by this. I have yet to look into that.

Yes, I too have spent many hours reading the threads from the last few years. I think firm123 is the only person to have gotten the ATT, not sure if it was a mistake on the analyst part, but lucky person for sure! Hope firm123 passes the first time, if not, I have a feeling it will be denied on the re-apply.

But there are a few others who claims their friend or batchmates coming from the SAME class, same college, same graduation date getting their ATT. Those are the 1% that got in. Strange huh?

You mentioned CURRENT license holders, I had made a question here and it seems like CA BON allows the license to be renewed for the first-timers with no problems other than pay the fee. But like for any CA nurses, the 2nd renewal and any after that, requires any CA nurses to be taking certain CA BON nursing courses of 30 units to be considered for renewal and there was mention that the CA BON is screening the nurses with where they got their education from. It will date back to those nurses getting their license from the 2004 year, I think CA BON could start to "deny" those nurses the renewal license as there's a very high chance they didn't comply with the concurrency problem and in order for the CA BON to maintain their standards, that's what's going to happen in the near future.

Or they may say before they revoke the license and issue a temporary license, they can take a remedial course within a year or two to fix it. Once the nurse meets that requirement, the temporary license becomes a permanent one and just need to keep up with regular nursing refresher courses to keep up with the licensing requirements.

Hello fellow tamaraw!

Same situation here guys, but I already asked the CABON to transfer my credentials and papers to CABVNPT. All you have to do is attached a 30usd check with a letter asking them to transfer your papers and fill out a LPN application with a 150usd check for app fee.

-Batch 2011, FEU-Mla

You paid $30? But according to my analyst they can send the RLE & TOR to the BVNT without a fee..

I've also read a post here saying that it's faster if you'll just get the requirements again from your school than asking the CA BRN to forward it to the BVNT.

Applying to sit in NCLEX-PN is still not in my mind. I'm trying to apply in NY. And I'm hoping they will give me the ATT. :)

Hmm. You are not alone.. I have the same exact scenario as yours. It's horrible having to deal with this... And realizing that taking the NLE didn't do me any good. Wrong move . I hope we can all bounce back from this and one day, finally be allowed to take that CA NCLEX RN.. God bless.

hi, I just graduated this april and moved here in CA last june. I'm planning on applying for NCLEX but I've read the threads and now I'm having second thoughts of applying. I might get denied, that would be a waste of money...btw, my MS and OB theories and Clinical cases too are inconcurrent. what should I do? should I transfer to another state?

Yes, your CA application will probably get a 99% rejection letter, so no need to waste your time and money.

The answer to your other question is what state do you want to be at for 2- 5 - 10 years or more?

You should start from there, then go to that state's BON site (Google is your friend). At this time, there's no backdoor (endorsement) coming into CA. Also, know that there are 12 other states besides CA that has the concurrency issues, it's been recently posted here, just look around these threads.

It also makes no sense to find out which state is the "fastest and easiest", if that's not the state you want to practice in, as you'll have to re-pay another set of fees and go thru another several months of waiting and waiting to see if your license can be endorsed over, so just start with your most desired state.

Good luck!

Hi there! :) I'm still in the process of applying for NCLEX in CABON, I also have the same exact scenario as the others. I received a letter last week that they were asking for my clinical rotation and academic calendar. So I sent a request to my school (any graduates of USLS-Bacolod here?) My school asked me to photocopy everything in my record book and have it book bind so they can put a stamp on it. Do I also have to attached the photocopy of my PRC forms separately? because the ones in my recordbook were all handwritten, I am just making sure that all my school papers are correct and precise. :)

And I got another problem.. I just thought this would make a big conflict for my application for NCLEX. :/ I'll tell you my concerns, this would take pretty long. I apologize in advance but I'm really worried.. :(

So I finished all my clinical requirements by April 2011 but I had left only one minor subject, so I took it before October 2011 and at the same time I was processing my petition (so I didn't plan to march during academic graduation and I didn't take NLE). I received my visa on November, and went here in Texas by December, and had received my SSN and Permanent resident card by February. But unfortunately, due to my own irresponsibility (which I admit), I never knew that it's a must to apply for my academic graduation. Like I just thought whenever I'm done with all my academic subjects and has been cleared for clearance, I thought I'm automatically considered as a graduate. So yeah, they just blame it on me and asked me to make a letter about it that how I failed to apply blah blah and I'm willing to put my name on the list of May 6, 2012 graduates. Which really sucks, in my part! >.

My main concern is, I'm worried that CABON (or any other state if ever I get rejected to get ATT in CA) would noticed the big gap between my Visa and my graduation, and also with the academic calendar that the CABON requested.

I can see it coming, that they would noticed it no matter what (I know how strict they are). And I thought I'm the only one having this problem. :/

I'm planning to ask my school for a letter stating how I failed to apply for graduation during that time or ask for explanation about it. Do you think the CABON would consider it? Eventhough I'm really worried about it, I'm still thinking positively. :)

You could try, I highly doubt it will influence a CA BON evaluator. Others have tried various types of other letters but failed to result in getting their ATT. The fact that you didn't "finish" your course/cases in the timely manner as what a CA BON requires, it will most likely be rejected.

Why not try to take the exam in TX? You would not be able to endorse the TX license into CA, as you'll be asked to submit the same documentation as a new applicant, since CA does their own evaluations. But if you get your ATT in TX, you can at least look for work there.
