“Democrats won a special election to fill a vacant Kentucky state Senate seat this week, flipping a district Republicans held for decades and signaling that the suburban shift that helped create a blue wave in 2018’s midterm elections may continue in 2020.

Dr. Karen Berg defeated Republican candidate Bill Ferko by 14 points to win the race to replace longtime GOP state Sen. Ernie Harris, who retired in April after holding the seat in suburban Louisville for 25 years.”

Yeah, yeah, before anyone gets all liberal msm oh no you don’t, it’s from huffpost. Looked to find a report on fox news but nothing available on this story. Strange, no?

Anyway, is this the beginning of a blue tsunami? Not a wave, but a tsunami. Starts with the tide rolling in but not stopping, just continuing to rise. The gop has dominated at the state level for years. Maybe folks want change...

These things ebb and flow. The election is four months away - an eternity in politics. So things could change.

To be frank, most politicians promise a lot of changes but nothing really changes because the elites that finance them want to ensure the status quo remains as such.

For me, I vote if the candidate genuinely cares about people's well-being and has been consistent in helping the working class issues, and if they respect our individual liberties. So I'm strongly libertarian on societal issues but fairly left-wing when it comes to bedrock economic issues. Neither party is the 'fit' for me, it's always about choosing between the lesser of two evils.

I'm a hard 'no' on Biden. And Trump is flat-out incompetent. But I may have to decide between Trump and Howie Hawkins in November.

Looks like things are heating up in Kentucky US Senate race---especially since Republican group Lincoln Project supporting Sen. McConnell ouster.

This Kentucky Democrat may be the key to the US Senate majority

Quote

Amid all of the grilling and fireworks, you may have missed a development that could fundamentally impact the fight for the Senate majority this fall: Amy McGrath beat Charles Booker to win the Kentucky Democratic primary.

But McGrath doesn't need to beat McConnell to reshape the Senate map. All she has to do is be competitive enough that she a) keeps McConnell focused on his own race and b) forces him (and, potentially, the national Republican Party) to spend time and money ensuring that the Republican leader wins...

Lincoln Project: #RichMitch Ad

Quote

May 28, 2020-The Lincoln Project’s latest ad released today shows that U.S. Senate Majority Leader and senior senator from Kentucky, Mitch McConnell, made tens of millions of dollars since he was first elected to office. Meanwhile, Kentucky ranks 40th in job opportunity in the nation, 45th in education, and 43rd in health care.

“I’m a conservative lawyer of the type that McConnell has prided himself for putting on the bench. But precisely because I’m a conservative lawyer, I believe most fundamentally in the Constitution and the rule of law,” said Lincoln Project co-Founder George Conway. “When he fixed the impeachment trial by blocking evidence of Trump’s high crimes and misdemeanors, McConnell violated and abased the solemn oaths he took as a United States Senator. Add in the fact that, as our ad shows, he’s managed to do much better for himself than for the people of Kentucky, and it becomes a no-brainer: McConnell has to go.”
