Dell Children's Nurse Residency July 2018

Hi everyone!!

I'm starting a thread for the incoming July 2018 Cohort! I thought it would be nice to get each others experiences with the interviewing process and steps to hiring! My main pick is the Pediatric Emergency Department.

Also, I was invited to the Open house next week on Feb. 23 and will be flying in to attend that. Is anyone else attending this?

It's so stressful! Everyone that is applying on here, did you rotate through Dell Seton? Wondering if they only accept people who have.... coming from out of state, I am nervous I won't even be considered. This has happened to me at a couple other hospitals

I did my peds rotation at DCMC and made some contacts while I was there. Hoping that pulls through for me!

I know what you mean. However, I did see in past blogs they did hire a lot of out-of-state applicants! I'm out of state as well but I usually make it very clear i'm from Texas and am desperately trying to come back to texas (lol).

What do you know about st David's? Is that a reputable hospital to work at?

St. David's is a good hospital but they pay about $2 less per hour vs Seton and require a 2 year contract. They have multiple sites. I rotated at the St. David's north austin medical center and it was really nice.

I know Seton denied me. But I haven't heard anything from Dell yet.

Did you recieve an email or did you just check the status of your application. Mine all say submitted.

Mine still say submitted too. I talked to the nurse recruiter and said they picked a while ago I guess. But I also got an email saying I wasn't considered. I only applied to the ICU though, not sure about all the other units!!
