Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
I especially enjoyed the line, "HR professionals picked health care as the best bet for job security. Nurses are receiving the most employment offers in this category."
Right. Interview experienced nurses who have been laid off and can't get a job.

Hi Classicdame,
I've been trying to get this question answered, I am working on my ADN. I already have a BS and would like to move on to get a DNP. Will my BS help at all with finding a job or is it better for me to stop and get a BSN along the way? Thanks.

Go ahead and get your BSN now while you have time. From other people's experience, I know that it can be much harder to do things while you are juggling full time work and other commitments. Just finish it all now while you can. After you finish your BSN, work and do your advanced degrees if that is what you want to do. You must never let anyone talk you out of working towards your goals just because something worked for them.

People are idiots if they think that there are careers/jobs that have job security. There is no such thing as job security. I see those stupid articles on yahoo all the time and they always say healthcare is the best field for job security especially nursing. Hasnt this recession taught people that job security doesn't exist? Good luck to all of those especially nurses who are job hunting. The economy is in the toilet and who knows what will happen when the new health care reform kicks in.

I hear this over and over too. I am an LPN and would really like to go back for my RN but I read on here so many out of work RN's that I wonder if I should bother.
I would have to get more student loans, and that is something I do not wish to jump into right now.
But on the flip side, a person probably has a better chance of getting a job in healhtcare than OTHER areas.

This is what the OP is posting about..yahoo and others encouraging people to get degrees in health care, does not matter really what degree as there is enough work for ALL!!!
No wonder the general public does not get it.. Nurses can have any job,, any where for great pay. This is just so untrue and so unfair to new people going into healthcare. Yes, I know the trend will turn, how much depends on reform but it will eventually turn but so many are going to nursing school now and so many in last 2-3 yrs can not find work to say nothing of the experienced nurses who can not find work.
It is truly a sad state of affairs.
