Dec grads...do you have a job yet?

Published

Hey everyone! I took my final exam on Halloween and passed. :balloons:It was one of the happiest days of my life! The next day was my last clinical day, which was another happy day and the day after that was the first day of my precepting...so a lot has been going on. I finish precepting on Nov 30th and pinning is Dec 14th. I had two interviews last week and was offered both, but took the one I wanted more and it's on a general surgery floor. I'm excited because I know I'm going to learn a lot there and everyone seemed glad that I'm coming on board. I have to say though, I was surprised at the fact that there weren't a lot of openings. Are you guys experiencing this too? Anyhow..on to studying for the NCLEX..

How are you all faring on the job front???

Specializes in SRNA.

Yep - Interviewed, received and accepted an offer as a new grad on the floor I wanted. WOOT

Specializes in Neuro.

Doing an RN internship program for the first 20-24 weeks to rotate through 2-3 units of preference and then applying for a job on one of those. I'm probably doing a neuro/trauma track since I have had good experiences on both units. :) Either way, the internship is PAID!!!! :)

Specializes in SICU, MICU, CICU, NeuroICU.

I grad in Dec and have gotten two job offers from my NM (I work as a clerk) and I can work in the ER too.

Yup. Ill be going to the NICU in Jan.

We graduate( last day) Dec 10th and don't pin until Jan 10th! How dumb is that?? lol...but it's because our pinning is held on campus and campus shuts down for winter break and we can't hold it on winter break. O well.

29 days and counting

Specializes in LDRP.

me too, me too! i am going to OB! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:balloons: start in January! i cant wait! congrats everyone...:balloons:

We have 2 clinicals left... 2 tests left... final exam...exit exam... hesi...and leadership hesi... all before pinning on dec. 14th. I have my 1st interview this coming thursday. I would have probably already had some interviews by now i just waited so long, i applied for L&D hoping and praying all their graduating interns didn't take the openings... and was just informed they didn't have any openings.. so i've had to branch out now... bummer.. i've picked 3 other spots... and was able to set up an interview with the one that i'd like to work at the LEAST... bigger bummer... any suggestions? should i just go to the interview and if they offer say i'll think about it and hopefully get interviewed at other two?

I graduate on December 18 and haven't started looking yet. I'm moving across the country and will start looking once I've found a place to live. I hope I'm not making a mistake doing it this way! I'm so bogged down with clinicals and homework that there has been no free time to job search. Good thing the area I'm relocating to has tons of job openings :)

Specializes in SICU, MICU, CICU, NeuroICU.

I'm not going to be taking a job until I pass the boards. I really don't want to work as a GN and since I don't HAVE to, I'm not.
