Death Penalty Anesthesia

Ok

This is not a debate about pro vs con Death Penalty.

Would you take a job performing this anesthesia?

So what do you think you become as you exit your mother (whichever way you came out)? Do you think this is like that board game where you stop at go, collect a soul, become a human, get your rear end slapped and BOOYA - a live human being is born?

Who obviously doesn't care about society. A thinking person who chose poorly.

You right. Killing a fetus is murder. Ending the life of a POS person that killed, tortured, or molested an innocent human is not murder.

This actually isn't an abortion thread.

No - you are right - it isn't an abortion thread - and it isn't a debate on whether you support the death penalty or not - but it seems ok to shout from the rooftops if one doesn't support it.

the actual thread related to the the question IF the anesthesia community provided anesthesia for the death penalty - would you be a part of it...

so - if everyone wants to stay on thread then great - but let up on RN for giving an opinion as everyone seems able to.

Of course everyone can have an opinion. What an interesting thing to feel compelled to point out.

Read post 95. I responded to it.

How in the world are you going to pin bringing up abortion on me? Have you honesly read the previous posters or was it a knee-jerk reaction just because you didn't like my answer?

Either way, really doen't matter to me.

Thing of it is, the topic's death penalty anesthesia, and some people (hey lookie, no names mentioned or quoted) keep dragging abortion into it.

Maybe someone can do the right thing and kill this thread. KILL IT!!!

The way I understand the procedure is this; The state needs a medical professional to start the IV and set up several syringes, one of which contains the active ingrediant, the others are saline. Only the medical professional knows which syringe is active. There is one person for each syringe who pushes a button to start the pump for his syringe, not knowing if he has the active button. I think I could set it up, but not push the button. Stick to the question!

I read you post more fully. The answer to your question is because the actions of one are grossly illegal while the actions of the other are legal.

UNLESS WE WANT TO LIVE IN A THEOCRACY, our laws are a result of common consensus. Things are moral - or immoral - because we, as a group, decide them to be.

Mind you, I'm decidedly pro-life. But, unless this proposed THEOCRACY is MY SPECIFIC THEOCRACY, I'd just assume pass.

I would not assist w/ an abortion; I'd lose no sleep assisting in an execution.

10% of deathrow inmates have been released after DNA testing that was not available when they were convicted.

it's all the same, you becоme accessory of murder, because you help executioners to kill tied, helpless and sleeping "patients". [color=gray]the worst of it is that you violate medical ethics!

it's a violation of who's ethics?

i'm sorry, death penalty is both legal and moral from where i sit. 34 states agree with me.

i can't see how a legal and moral law is a violation of ethics.

i respect that it violates your ethics. but, to try to bully nurses into respecting your ethics alone means that you hold your ethics sacrosanct over mine.

i not so humbly disagree.

since when do you get to decide for everybody what is moral? because, really, i want to play this game too.

but, you might not like what i decide is not moral for you. and, for the record, this is how the abortion debate sneaks into this debate.

the problem with bullying morality on people is that it's not quite so fun or indignantly 'right' when morality is bullied onto you. wow, did i just wax libertarian?
