Anybody thinking about El Centro/ Northlake in the DCCCD for Jan 2006?
Fun2care, My fiance' found mine online (at half.com I think) and it came with the CD's.
Lalajenn, what books did you get? I need a few good reference books. I am taking another Pharmacology class that's required for the program up here, just in case we can't get back to Dallas for January.
I bought a book called "Dosage Calculations" on Ebay. It is by Gloria D. Pickar, 6th edition. It was supposed to have a CD, but it's not in the book....bummmer. (The Ebay AD didn't say anything about a CD, so I didn't get screwed....lol)
Anyway, I hope it does help. :)
As for UTA. I just had a long, extensive talk with an advisor there. She said the foreign language classes will not transfer. She also said I would need 6 credits of upper level electives.
So, I think I'm going to take the music appreciation class. During the summer I'll try chem, or one of the other 5 classes I have left to go. Then after I finish the ADN I'll have 4 classes to go, plus the two electives I have to take at UTA before getting into the RN-BSN program. However, she did say the RN-BSN program was going to change in Spring '06, so I'll have to check back later. The upper level elective I want to take is an Operative Nursing Course, and it's 6 credit hours. That means I only have to take the one class. I guess that would depend on time.....'cause I'll be working as an RN then!!!!! lol
Fun2care, if my fiance hasn't already sold my books on E-bay, maybe I can send them to you. I will have to check.
At the very least I may be able to copy the CDs for you. He does not like to keep stuff around so he may have already auctioned them. :rotfl:
Let me know.
Is that Operative class at UTA? I have my CST so I am really hoping perioperative nursing can be one of my specialties during my career.
Yes, find out let me know, & how much...
Yes the class is at UTA. Here's the info:
N3652 Operating Room - Continuous Care Experience (3-9) 6 credits. I would love perioperative, pre-OR, or recovery room-OR nursing as well.
It doesn't go into detail about the class, but I"m sure there is a course description page somewhere.
This is the link to their BSN course electives list:
I got "Real World Nursing Survival Guide--Drug Calculations and Drug Administration" authors are Chernecky, Butler, Graham, and Infortuna and "Dosage Calculations 7th edition by Thomson" Author is Gloria Pickar. The Thomson book was really expensive IMO but I liked that it has actual labels in the book that I could look at and help me with reading the labels better. The Real World Survival Guide one looks like it is trying to be more fun. :)

OK! I registered for MUSI 1306. It does say CNET INE, but it also says orientation is online. Usually if the orientation is online, the tests, etc are all online.
I registered today, and it said the tuition was due today! UH DON'T THINK SO!!! I emailed the bill and book costs to the TWC counselor, and called the BHC business office to ask them to set it where I won't be unenrolled tonight. lol
I hope I'm doing the right thing. I know when I really get ready to do the RN-BSN, I'll be glad I did this now......less classes later.
Well, good morning! lol Good luck on your RN-BSN classes! :)
I have all of my English classes out of the way, as well as Sociology.
I'm pretty sure I've stated somewhere before, I actually started out right after high school with the BSN goal. lol That was 1991.
OK, 14 years later........
I have English 1301(A), English 102(B), American Lit(B), (Actually at UTA I can replace the American lit(B) with Speech(A) for a higher GPA!) lol
I have Sociology©oooops!, 1 semester of History(A), 1 semester of Government(B).
Don't ask what happened to me in Sociology...I guess taking it during the summer with American Lit, plus having an instructor that talked about himself being a preacher all the time, instead of teaching didn't help....not to mention about just caring if I passed or not.....not caring if I have an A or a C way back then! lol
So anyway....like I posted earlier, I will need Chem, Statistics, HIST 1302, & GOVT 2302, plus one course from UTA's Jr/Sr level electives. THEN start the RN-BSN electives.
I wish UT -Austin had an online RN-BSN program, I'd much rather do my RN-BSN through UT! (Hook 'em Horns!!) lol

The online is what I'm looking at. So, you actually have to have the CDs? I thought about saving the scholarship money & buying my own books on ebay. Bad thing is that most of the ones on Ebay doesn't have the CDs. bummmmmer!
