Anybody thinking about El Centro/ Northlake in the DCCCD for Jan 2006?
I want to go to Northlake too. Unfortunately, I have to wait until 2009-2010 to apply. You all will be practicing nursing for a few years before I even start. I am only taking one class a semester. So far I have only taken Eng 1301, Psyc 2301 & 2314, and this semester I signed up for the night class Spch 1311 at Northlake and it starts Monday.I don't know what to expect yet. I plan on taking all the pre & co reqs for both El Centro and Brookhaven. Hopefully, I can get in on the first try somewhere. On a different note, my husband is starting to think he wants to move to Grapevine.
That would stink because SCIT 1407/1408 doesn't transfer there and they require Chem 1406 instead of Chem 1405 like Brookhaven. I told him if we do move I am finishing up at Northlake even if I have to pay out-of-disctrict fees.
You will start the same time I hope to start. I am also taking all support courses and pre-reqs. My BS was earned in 1994, so some of the stuff I have taken is old. I will do 1 or 2 classes a semester. My youngest will start school that year, so I hope that will make nursing school more manageable. Good luck! Maybe we can keep each other motivated....
I am officially a Spring 2006, DCCCD, Associates in Nursing-RN program applicant.
One step closer to being a:nurse:!
It feels good to not worry about applying in time. lol
LKG6, I'm glad you finally got someone on the phone. They must be really busy this week, and next week.
Again, good luck to everyone applying for Spring '06. :kiss
Questions? What were the requirements of that HCA scholarship again? I know they may not offer it again, but I'd just like to see if I qualify to apply.
My sources of funding seem to be drying up and I need to start looking for other funds just in case.
Anyone know of a good company that offeres private loans. I may have to borrow as much as $27K.....
Woohoo! Good luck! I hope to send mine off Monday or Tues. That's when my last transcript is supposed to get here.
Thanks, and good luck to you as well! :)
SUNNY...The traffic wasn't bad at all. I drove myself...hubby was too busy today.
As for the HCACares, the initial requirement was supposed to be a displaced worker due to 9-11. However, I guess there wasn't enough applicants, and they opened it up to everyone.
Maybe they will open it back up. Good luck finding $. I know I will need to pay some for my own classes b/c I moved and tuition went up. For now, I'm enjoying the scholarship. lol
I'm trying to conserve a little though, I paid for my own NET, physical, immunizations, and I'll buy my own watch, shoes & stethoscope. :)
Robsmom,
Yeah, my daughter will be 2 tomorrow and my son is just 7 weeks old. I am staying home until both are in school. I hope to be able to stay with it. Good luck to you, too.
Sunnyjohn, I am not to into the summer classes they are to fast for me. Especially with my daughter wanting to play on the "'puter" every time I come in the den. My husband's work schedule is flexible some days, but not flexible others so doing the summer thing, I feel won't work.
Fun2Care,
Congrats! :balloons:
I think that Citibank does.

I have been calling El Centro for an hour, but only the machine answers. Maybe you can help me.
Is it true that you can submit your application without the 3rd dose of hep. B shot?
Thanks,
Katie
