Anybody thinking about El Centro/ Northlake in the DCCCD for Jan 2006?
I asked her to check with the nurse if it would be ok if I took the last HepB shot tomorrow, instead of Monday. They said yes, so I am doing my physical, PPD, HepB, and possibly 1 out of 2 HepA shots tomorrow! (maybe I should go ahead and get a MMR or a titer?!?!?!) I wonder if all of this can go together or will I end up with a slight case of MeaslruehepB-Amumptitis?
Gawd...let's see. I've had Hep A (no shots...I had Hep A in 1973), When I had MMR...there weren't shots... I had the diseases....let's see what 3rd world country I have been to for TB exposure? This is going to be so much fun....I'll be a pin cushion.
lol....well I have to admit I'd rather be a pin cushion than have the diseases....so sorry you had to deal with it! lol
I know I don't have to have the varicella vaccine! I've had the chicken pox, been exposed to it when my oldest was a baby, and my 7 year old had a case of break-through chicken pox even though she did get immunized. I never did get chicken pox again, so I think I'm ok! :) (Last exposure was just last school year, so I think I'm good to go.) lol
hmmmm I forgot about the meningitis vaccine, but it's only good for about 6 months....I'd be a pin cushion every six months....then again, it may be worth getting it a month or so before starting the program!!!!!

My favorite exposure was when I was an engineer for a company with a plant about 100 miles south of Nuevo Laredo in Mexico. They had an outbreak of dengue fever carried by the local mosquito population. I managed to avoid it thankfully.
I got some of my vaccinations re-done at the El Centro Health Clinic for only $10 (which the scholarship covered). When they were limiting supplies of a lot of stuff, El Centro got supplies for its healthcare students. They also give you a neat Texas Department of Health Card to keep track of everything. The card is great when I have to show proof of immunizations. I never have to call up the doctor's office!
Why not get the meningitis shot at El Centro if you are going to wait until just a month before the program starts? Your scholarship might cover it.
I hope your lunch won't leak out FUN2CARE with all the shots today! hehehe
Wow, Mike....better you than me!! LOL
SunnyJohn...(It's tomorrow @ 10:30) lol I guess I better eat a solid breakfast, and not a liquid shake of somesort! :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle
I have to go get my mommie to sign my chicken pox letter I typed up. lol Geeze, I'm 31 years old, don't you think I'm old enough to say, yes I did have the chicken pox? lol
I remember it all too well. I got it from a girl named Candi that was in my class. Wednesday night I stood at the door crying because I couldn't go to church with them. LOL

Isn't it funny the thing we remember from childhood?
I got chicken pox a couple of days before my eight birthday. I remember it all because my godmother gave me a storybook of Bible stories as a birthday gift. It was really big and had the coolest pictures. There was a place in the front where you could put you name.
I still have that book.
LOL .... It is funny. Somethings just stand out. I wish I had a photographic memory. I would love to remember more "little" things, not just things that tramatized my life such as chicken pox or birthdays! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well, I had a scheduled physical today (for application). I spent 2 hours waiting and 2 minutes with the physician. :stone I was about to get an MMR shot when the assistant realized that the vaccination already expired.Should I visit another clinic next time?
Katie
You shouldn't have to, unless you would feel more comfortable. Vaccinations expire. At least they caught it. Did they already have the needle about to poke ya? lol
We always had to write down the Lot # & expiration date, so we caught it before we even drew up the medicine in the syringe. (For expiration reasons, as well as reference just in case there is a reaction/something wrong with the vaccine.)
Well gooooooood morning, DCCCD!
I'll be coming down with my MeaslruehepB-Amumptitis after my pin cushion treatment at the Dr's office.
I hope it's not contagious through the computer. lol
Hope everyone is ready for the FALL..... only a few more days off. (I've enjoyed my 2 weeks vacation!)
Now I need to stop hiding behind my computer, wash the carpet in daughter's bedroom, then get ready to go. :behindpc:
