Hey everyone
I'm going to be petitioning for DCCC's 2015 nursing program. I recently just finished my TEAS (80.6%) and still waiting from the state about my clearances. In the mean time, I was told to take the TEAS one more time to "lock myself in" the day program at the Marple campus. Still debating that, but at this point it really can't hurt to sit through one more testing session.
Anyway, has anyone petitioned up to this point? It might be a little early to hear back (supposedly December-ish), but it could happen. I just wanted to get a feel for some TEAS scores, maybe get a little feedback/advice from the other nursing students that just completed their first year, etc.
Thanks all, and good luck!
Hello Val31690, I also have 3 classes left to take, A & P I and II and the math for nurses. I am planning
to take the Bio this spring...who are you taking for A & P I and when is the math for nurses offered?
I might take the second Bio in the summer also. Is it possible to test out of math for nurses?
my schedule has Ejo John listed as the professor for A&P 1.. its a tues/thurs 6pm class at downingtown campus.
not sure when math for nurses is offered, I am taking it at the chester county hospital monday nights from 6-8:30.
I believe that you can test out of the course, it may cost money and it has an extremely high fail rate from what i have heard, i went to one of the nursing info sessions in 2013 and you can only get like 1-2 questions wrong if i am remembering correctly..
Congrats to all that have been accepted so far. Don't loose hope to those that are still waiting on an acceptance letter. I was waitlisted and made it in and will be graduating this spring. Best advice I can give you all would be to get your prerequisites, specifically anatomy and physiology out the way prior to fall. Nursing courses are unlike any other courses you have taken before and it will require a lot of time to do well. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
Jweicheng,
The lecture part of A&P was pretty easy! Our exams were anywhere from 80-120 multiple choice questions. It requires plenty of memorization! So flash cards or what I used was quizlet.com. I would make my own flash cards on their website and I downloaded the app and would study throughout the day on my phone. The hardest part of the class for me was the lab exams. We took two and they were 75 random questions and we didn't have a word bank and spelling counted.
The most important thing to do is make sure you get a good professor! Use ratemyprofessor.com!
And I'm enrolled already for math for nurses next semester, so it is available. Good luck!
