DCCC Nursing 2015

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hey everyone

I'm going to be petitioning for DCCC's 2015 nursing program. I recently just finished my TEAS (80.6%) and still waiting from the state about my clearances. In the mean time, I was told to take the TEAS one more time to "lock myself in" the day program at the Marple campus. Still debating that, but at this point it really can't hurt to sit through one more testing session.

Anyway, has anyone petitioned up to this point? It might be a little early to hear back (supposedly December-ish), but it could happen. I just wanted to get a feel for some TEAS scores, maybe get a little feedback/advice from the other nursing students that just completed their first year, etc.

Thanks all, and good luck!

Hi guys, congrats to everyone who got into the nursing program this year. I will be transferring from Miami to DCCC in January. Hopefully I'll be starting the nursing program Fall of 16'. I got most of all my prereqs completed, I'm just lacking the Nursing Math. I took my Teas already and scored at 67% on it. Is this score good enough for the program or do you think I should retest? I'm planning on attending the Marpel Campus. Is there anyone else looking to start the program for Fall of next year? Any info would be greatly appreciated! :)

DO NOT ATTEND THE DCCC NURSING PROGRAM!!! First off, they are on PROBATION by accrediting agencies because of their low NCLEX rates and may lose accreditation (NOT GOOD). Second, the program is poor. The sim labs are old and outdated, the equipment doesn't work and there are never enough supplies. Third, constant turn over in instructors, Dean, etc. Also, NO LOCAL HOSPITALS ARE NOW HIRING ADN GRADS FROM DCCC. You heard me right! You may do your clinicals and be a star at Main Line Health...but they WILL NOT HIRE YOU!!! Save your time and money and go to West Chester or another state school straight for the BSN...and a better program.

They are on probation due to low NCLEX pass rates...may lose accreditation...not good...avoid this school! Even says so on website! Be warned!!!

Don't listen to this. I'm about to finish the program and it is great. I also have several friends who went to traditional 4 year programs and wish they went to DCCC because of the affordability. Yes, if you want to get hired in a hospital you will need to get your BSN but it is much cheaper to get your ADN through DCCC and then spend 1 year getting your BSN rather than going through 4 years of a BSN program. This program is great. Don't be swayed by one negative review.

Hey guys! For anyone still lurking on this thread I just wanted to let you know I graduated in May and already had several job offers before taking NCLEX. Of the few people I have spoken two since graduation, two of them have RN jobs lined up with Main Line after they pass their boards. Again don't be swayed by rants!

Thanks Jem163!

I'm going into my 2nd year at DCCC and you've helped put some fears to rest. Did you accept a job? if so where?

Yes I did! I had a job offer from an outpatient clinic, a dialysis center, and one of the hospitals in the area. I was also offered a nurse residency position in another state. I haven't decided and I am still going through the process with a few of the offers so I do not want to use any names, but none of my friends have had issues finding jobs. Yes, you might not get the position of your dreams at the hospital of your dreams right out of school, but there are plenty of positions available and if you continue on for your BSN and get some experience, you'll eventually be able to go wherever you want.
