DC Weekend Transportation

Hey guys I will be moving down to DC sometime in the beginning of July and was wondering how hospital employees get to work on the weekends. I will be relying on the Metro to get to work and noticed it doesn't begin running until 7am on the weekends.

Any insight would be great. I tried to search but not too helpful.

Thanks!

You will probably have to rely on the bus or bike for the weekends if you are not interested in getting a car. Depending on where you are coming from and going to, bus service is generally available around 4 or 5 am on the weekends. From the experience of someone who has lived in DC part-time for 6 years....if you are living on the Red Line, be aware that it is historically problematic and late. Leave yourself extra time for commuting on red. Download the WMATA app so you can be aware of issues and delays on all the lines and plan your commute accordingly.

Where in DC will you be working?!

Jlc623,

I will be working at GWU Hospital. Tentative start date is Monday (7/14) if my license goes through in time! I just moved into a studio in Foggy Bottom, about a 7 min walk to the hospital - eliminating my need for public transportation.

Hope you enjoy. DC is a great place to live with a million things to do.
