  1. Jlc623, I will be working at GWU Hospital. Tentative start date is Monday (7/14) if my license goes through in time! I just moved into a studio in Foggy Bottom, about a 7 min walk to the hospital - eliminating my need for public transportation.
  2. Hey guys I will be moving down to DC sometime in the beginning of July and was wondering how hospital employees get to work on the weekends. I will be relying on the Metro to get to work and noticed it doesn't begin running until 7am on the weekends. Any insight would be great. I tried to search but not too helpful. Thanks!
  3. Brittyma, I just accepted a position in the ED at Albany Med and will be making the move from southern Connecticut. I'd love to hear about your experience thus far with the whole move/apartment search/etc. Send me a message!
  4. I really am enjoying the program! The faculty are great and well respected within their fields. Both of my med/surge clinicals were at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and I just started my OB clinical at MGH this week. We aren't officially done with the program until sometime this summer - once we complete our immersion, which is similar to a preceptorship. As for jobs, I just began working at the Brigham and Women's Hospital as a patient care assistant and it's going great so far!
  5. I do not know my prereq GPA but I think it's safe to say I had about a B+ avg in them. My undergrad GPA was a 3.49. As for online classes - they really aren't that bad. Right now my online classes are pathophysiology, biobehavioral and history of nursing. Luckily, the emphasis of this semester is placed on our nursing process and skills class (which meets in person). I really can't complain - we are placed in some of the best hospitals for our clinicals! (MGH, Brigham and Women's).
  6. Hey guys I am in the Summer 2012 class (almost done with our first semester). If you have any questions let me know! Good Luck in your applications!
  7. gglove317, I got my BS in Biobehavioral Health at Penn State. My GPA was a 3.49 and I have ~4 years of experience working as an EMT and 200+ hours of shadowing an emergency room physician in a busy emergency department. Let me know if you have any other questions!
  8. Zdbstn - search MGHIHP ABSN Summer 2012

  11. I saw that past classes have created FB groups.. I need someone to invite to the group in order to make one. If you are interested, add me on FB. My name is Stephen Cihocki. The group will be titled MGH ABSN Summer 2012.
  12. Congrats to all that have been accepted! I called MGH admissions today to clear up my admission confusion and am happy to say I have been accepted! Time to figure out housing.. what's everyone doing??
  13. lfg4444, By any chance did you receive any other letters? I received a wait list letter and in another envelope, an acceptance letter. I'm going to call tomorrow to sort it all it - just wanna hear from everyone here.
  14. tinatac.. I received your message. Just trying to figure out how to message you back! If you want, send me a message with your name I'll find you on facebook
  15. Just received a letter from USM and unfortunately I did not get in. I have a bachelor's of science from Penn State with a 3.48 gpa and 3+ years of experience as an EMT. I called admissions today and was told that although my application was strong, they did not accept anyone into the program with a gpa under 3.7. Still waiting to here from Mass General and Stony Brook but I thought my best shot was at USM.
