Hi,

I just got my acceptance letter for Daytona State (formerly DBCC) for January YEA!! This was my second time applying, I am so thankful I got in and so excited to get started.

So, is anyone else out there starting in January in Daytona?

They usually mail you a flyer, but you can always call the nursing department and ask rebecca nicolas about it.

Where is everyone taking their BLS certification course? I have found a place in Daytona that is doing it this Saturday, but I would like to find somewhere on the west side of the county so it will be closer to home.

What is the name of the place you found in Daytona? I found one in Port Orange called GPS Education, it is in that mall that has the ice skating rink. The website is http://gps-edu.com/

I am going for my physical this afternoon, oh what fun!

Here is the link to the place.

I'll probably do it there if I can't find somewhere in Deland for this weekend.

the saturday class doesn't look like it is bls for health care providers. the one on thursday looks like it probably is "...for the professional". defiantly call and make sure before you go through the class.

i might take it here too, it is way cheaper than the place i found.

I didn't realize that it needed to be for the professional. I'm glad I said something on here then.

Is this the one we need?

Yes, that looks like the one. When are they offering that class?

I couldn't find it on their website so I am going to call tomorrow. I saw that class the other day, but I thought it was for continuing education. It is only a 4.5 hour class which I thought was kind of short.

The new program guide for 2009 has condensed the program down from 5 semesters to 4. Very cool! I guess it makes sense since the program became competitive and everyone will have their coreq's done and will just be taking the core courses.

You can check out the guide here, click on the one for 2009.

So I guess they eliminated that one summer semester that we were going to take. I wonder why they still show people taking prereqs as coreqs.

I dunno, hopefully we will be able to take one of the classes in the summer. I guess we will find out all on Monday.

Looks like it is just you and me on here right now. I'm sure that will all change in a few weeks. Did you get your BLS class all lined up? I signed up to take one on the 19th of Dec. in Winter Park. It's 4.5 hours and $48 including the books.
