I have a countdown. Is this odd? This is my first summer I've had "off" of school in three years (I usually always took 1-2 classes during the summer), but after last semester I NEEDED a break.

I'm feeling anxious, I pace a lot, and in general I find it difficult to sit still. This has always been a problem of mine though, if I know something is "coming due" I can't help but think about it until I can actually finish/master the project. I'll have to remember this is the feeling I've had when I wasn't in school. I'm sure come December I'll be skipping for joy to have a month off.

I've been rereading school notes, reading books, browsing forums. I often would stay up at night during our Disney World trip just to find bargains on this semester's upcoming books.

Anyone else feel like this? What are you going to do with your last "month" off from school?

Lol I'm in the same boat!! I start August 19th have orientation the 13th & I can't wait!!

I keep looking up my books to see where I can find them cheaper (I don't even know what books we need yet until Monday) I'm just crazy!! I made a thread to see if I should buy or rent. I looked up past book lists to get an idea. My husband says I'm gonna go crazy.

When I got my acceptance letter I did everything on it that same day. Really!! Even my drug test it was a walk in clinic. I'm just so excited!!

These last days after I get registered & my books ordered on Monday I think I'm going to start shopping for my kids school stuff lol. I've done so much for me that I put their stuff aside. I have physicals scheduled for them & school orientations. Did all this on purpose, I knew the last month I'd go crazy if I did nothing.

I might even schedule a lil camping vacation & take the boat out to the lake!! Who knows when we'll get to do it again.

I thought I was the only one. I've started reading the disorders for the first exam, practicing dosage calculations and obsessing about how I'm going to manage my life when school begins. Since the semester begins in little under a month Aug. 26, I can't relax.:woot:

Good luck to you all on your first semester of nursing school.... I will be a second semester student starting med surg and I'm happy to say I'm VERY EXCITED to begin classes again! I thoroughly enjoyed my first semester of nursing school and hope u will too :-)

Oh yeah I'm ready to go back. It's kind of crazy, when I was in school I missed work and was so happy to return but now my countdown is on until I'm finished working for the summer and I'm back in school. One month of work and done again until Christmas break.

Im going insane also. Looking up the prices for the books I need and reading the powerpoint presentation that the teacher has already put up. This will be my first semester and Im taking Nursing 101, Patho and Pharm. I have to make my kids doctor appts and start school shopping for them. Im so excited, I cant wait.

It's definitely starting to get real. I start Aug 26, finally finished up everything and got it approved on Certfied Background/Profile. Got all my first semester books, my scrubs ordered, and now just waiting these next couple weeks for orientation, which is on the 12th. I'm excited beyond measure and nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

I have my med surg clinical orientation sept 3 and 4, then I start classes again the following day. I've been taking summer courses to lighten my load for the fall and winter semester this year so I've kept busy. I am eager to get back to a more full time schedule and my placement though!!!

We had a 4 month summer break, and once we go back, I only have 4 months until I am finished. I was over summer pretty much when it started! I. Just. Want. To. Get. Finished.

I agree with you all! I am going nuts waiting- I have 30 more days and I can't handle waiting any longer

I come on this site daily, search the Internet for scrubs and equipment all the time it's like I have some weird addition to starting school hahahaha

Shhh I'm doing homework that hasn't been assigned yet. I work with girls who just finished the program I just started and they all gave me advice to work on some things over the summer, so I have been.
